Busta Nut
It's been mentioned a million times but IMO the investment stuff is a no goer. No one is gonna give us money for nothing, personally I don't wanna give someone control of the club for them to f**k about for 3 or 4 years of finishing 3rd at best only for them to f**k off and leave us in the lurch. You'll hear about how they are talking to interested parties etc at this AGM but I don't see what's in it for anyone.

You'll hear about how they are talking to interested parties etc at this AGM but I don't see what's in it for anyone. Rich people have all kind of weird hobbies and if someone wants to play real life football chairman for a bit, they're more than welcome to have operational control day-to-day, season-to-season and even claim the lion's share of any profits if we ever make any. I don't think many people would object to that if such a looney can be found. However, you're dead right that the more important questions to be asking are what is the exit strategy and how we do we protect our assets (the X million in the bank, stadium etc) against being used as insurance against their investment going wrong. Having got clear of debt and to a fan-ownership model which basically guarantees the future of the club forever, throwing that away for a few years of cash (and we know how that usually works out) is an utterly insane risk we shouldn't be taking imho. Where I think we should be much bolder and should take a risk is with the CEO but that's a different argument. ML4
Presumably this phantom investment chat is slowing down the CEO appointment further? So we will get six months down the line with an investor who will pull out and then be back at the drawing board, except then 18 months without a permanent CEO with a strategy to drive the club forward.
crazylegsjoe_mfc
I've just saw that Jili Buyabu has returned to Sheffield United for personal reasons. Very on 2023/24 brand to sign two left-backs in January to play a cup game each.

Hope the guy is all good and that, wouldn't be overly surprised if it was down to game time, or lack off. The statement is on the blunt side.

well fan for life
Neatly sums up our transfer strategy this season. Signing two left backs in January and by mid February one's been emptied and the other is broken.
eliphas
Even by Kettlewell's standards, clearing the decks and making people f**k off less than a month into their tenure is impressive. The axe swings

Neil86
To counter what I had said previously, I seen in the comments of the tweet there is a Sheffield Utd fan saying they wouldn't be surprised to see him get some game time with them now that they are down to one fit LB, the rest are injured. he's possibly seen an opportunity to sit on a premier league bench with the chance of getting x amount in appearance fee if he plays for 5 minutes, if so, fair fucks to him.

Surely he's not eligible to play for them with the recall happening outside the window. Anyway, 23/24 has been a wild ride. On 04/06/2023 at 23:41, capt_oats said: Goalkeepers: 1. Motherwell hold his playing registration until the Summer, i believe. He could only play for anyone else if he moves to a "Summer football" league, like the MLS, i think.

Guy looked like he was a player both on and off the field. If he thought he'd get decent minutes on the park, and MegaBar was still a thing I'm sure he'd have stayed. Sitting on the bench watching our clownshoes defending then trying to pump the clientèle of the Horseshoe probably not the vibe he was after.
