Mr Heliums
I'm not sure Tommy will regret it in one sense – it was a decent time to leave Saints. I think he was struggling in his final season and he was clearly becoming bitter. At least he left without having his solid reputation tarnished. I think Kilmarnock is a decent fit for him. He was clearly never going to get an English Championship job, and most of the top 6 here think they're too good for him. Killie are pretty much as good as he can get, and if he keeps them up, another wee feather in his cap. But I'm sure Tommy didn't expect his predecessor to match his own groundbreaking achievements in his first season as manager, playing better football. I expect he was some regrets about that. Radford
1 hour ago, Lang Toon Saintee said: He had no spark about him at all and just appeared to be going through the motions. When Coyle came in his personality instantly gave the when club a lift. Spot on. We could have finished second or third in the First Division for 20 years and he'd have been satisfied with that. The squad that Clark had assembled was very poor but Stark arguably made it worse and guys like Ian Maxwell and Mark Reilly were just an embodiment of him. A complete contrast to the likes of Kevin James and Martin Hardie. I think just a year of Davidson shows why Wright never moved on from Saints. He once said that Brendan Rodgers told him he needed to develop a philosophy to attract interest, which TW (and supporters) scoffed at. But then you see the direction and drilling that CD has instilled in his team and it's clear why a bigger club would look at someone like him over TW. Wright's biggest asset was his man management, he was a leader of men. But if he can't tell a chairman how his team is going to play, why would they employ him?

Steve McQueen
Don’t think we help ourselves blindly complaining about lack of Scotland call ups. Zander Clark shouldn’t be near the Scotland squad. Shaun Rooney still questions on the defensive side. Jason Kerr should be close. Maybe ahead of Hendry. Ali McCann should be in but that ship has sailed.

Could be our loss in a few years right enough.

Agree about Clark and Rooney, but Kerr/Gordon/McCart have all been far better than Gallagher this season, who feels like he simply benefited from hitting form and the right time and now has Clarkes "trust", and Jack Hendry has hardly been more than half decent at this level either.

Kerr, for me, has been the best Scottish CB in the league this season, but he’s clearly behind Gallagher and Considine in Clarke’s thoughts. I assume Gallagher has been brought in to replace Considine at Aberdeen which you’d think would kill things for the latter from next season. As far as Jack Hendry goes, I’m not sure how good he is as an actual defender. He looked very suspect in the last couple of Scotland games he played - couldn’t keep a line with the rest of the defence and was repeatedly caught out of position. Good with the ball and benefits from building a reputation in a league nobody here watches.

This is a pretty strange take, tbh. Why does it matter if nobody in Scotland watches the Belgian league - a level deemed superior to our own - when deciding if a player should be picked for Scotland?

The same league our champions have just spent millions on a forward from. Jack Hendry isn't Scotland class though, not sure Kerr is either tbh.

He's probably meaning along the lines of you only see Hendrys highlights. Same with Gauld. Nobodies watching these players week in week out, so all you're seeing is the good bits people highlight, and not the 80 instances beforehand where they fall over the ball.

But will the SFA not be using some statistical based program to follow performances on games they don't physically have people watching - a bit like yourself?

Kyle
https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/7136757/hibs-st-johnstone-hamilton-mcmann-millwall-transfer/amp/ Linked with Scott McMann in the Sun. two years left on his Hamilton contract so would require a fee. Would be happy enough with that. Plays wing back, can cover at centre back quite naturally and has looked decent over the last few years at Hamilton. Definitely a good replacement for Tanser.

Yeah offers more in attack than Booth probably does, while being a lesser player defensively and in possession. So virtually a like for like change with Tanser.
