steviemay17
Well that doesn't smack of panic short-term move at all
RandomGuy.
An injury prone 30yo whos struggled for a game at Bolton over the past 2 years, and its just a 6 month loan deal. A Callum Davidson special.
steviemay17
I was genuinely looking through FM the other night at Scottish players and came across crawford, totally forgot about him. I chuckled to myself and thought that's the kind of player we would panic sign under Tommy Wright Oh how naive I was

Radford
There is no way Crawford is a Grieve signing IMO. I don't know what the "strategy" (surely the whole point of appointing a HoR) is at Saints but can bet you it's not a short-term loan for a 30-year-old who hasn't exactly been playing regularly since moving south, especially with our squad balanced as it is (expiring contracts etc...) currently. Interesting.

Defensively a non-entity, so you can't play in a CM two. Can't play wide in our front three. Could potentially play McCann as a holding CM with Crawford and Wotherspoon either side, but I feel sorry for our RCB if hes got Rooney and Crawford helping him defensively. Guess he'll just be back up when we're trying to win the game or something? Hopefully this is the last window Callum Davidson has a major say in transfers. Hes done great things for us and all, but he can't build a squad that can last. In 12 months we'll be looking for, potentially, a starting GK, RCB, LCB, RWB, and CM, while Booth, Craig, and Davidson should all be back up, with May/MOH/Hendry punted. You can't sign 5 loanees and a couple of 30yo sticking plasters for that.

PSJ.84
Do worry this is a panic signing because a certain player is leaving…

Bryson and Gilmour are NEVER fit. Which is zero surprise as thats why Aberdeen moved him on. He was absent through injury for over 30 games in his time there! McCann could leave also. steviemay17
If there are two more attacking options still to come then ideal, perhaps Crawford means we can loan out Gilmour until January and see what he's actually capable of doing Can't say I'm confident however

Annoying that he wasn’t available for any of the European games, we missed him badly in both home legs.

Agreed. His performance in the big games towards the end of the season I thought he was very good! Same in the whole 45 mins I seen of him in pre season as well. He actually keeps possession! Mr Positive, sometimes.
Not because of the nutmeg but honestly no clue why Saints fans are all crying and whinging about signing him. Between Bryson, Muzz & Liam their combined age is over 100!! Bryson never fit, Muzz prone to being injured for long periods. Just because we've made a few quid from Europe doesn't mean we were ever going to make a blockbuster signing! Yes another loan but if we can't get better options via a permanent signings then what do you want the club to do? Sign poorer players just simply because they're permanent. That would be stupid... PSJ.84
May be imagining it but did Crawford not score a peach against us at NDP in a 1-0 as well? Could very well have been a tap-in or even not have happened…
