Just bought a new hut last month. Quality varies greatly when you shop about.

Ended up with a 12x7 wooden number for £1170, was far from the cheapest quote but easily the best quality. If you decide to go for wooden avoid Internet orders. They usually supply paper thin, poorly made huts.

:o fucking hell! £1170?!

My mother got one custom built last year and I was bemused when she told me the boy was charging her £900 for the privelege.

Have to admit though, it's well built and deceivingly roomy. Elevated on a plinthe too as her back garden is on quite a steep slope.

£250. 8x6. Metal.

Perfect for a 1700mm tall freezer, tumble drier and a 1000mm base unit.

Still to measure for wall units for more storage inside it.

Instant utility room without building a house extension.

Just looked at the opening link. Its virtually identical to my hut, it just has a couple more panels in it.

As long as you have a solid base then it is incredibly easy to build. It is just like a big Meccano set. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and an 8mm spanner, preferably the ratchet type and a small stepladder for doing the roof.

Built mine on my own in less than 7 hours. Could probably do it quicker a second time, it is that easy to put together.

I heard the guy from Wick who has this interviewed on Radio 4 when I was in the car earlier.  It's made from the wheelhouse of a fishing boat:

A finalist in the Shed of the Year competition:

That's another hoose, not a hut.
