ARF1928
Elgin City (A) this Saturday… Yet to lose a league game this season, scoring goals for fun, this could be a long afternoon Not even our former landlords could beat them at Borough Briggs midweek, hopefully we can go one better

tamthebam
aye, a week free of misery, pain and useless footballers. There's no City or Scotland games... maybe I should go to St Mirren v Hearts to get my fix.

kventin
Greetings, I have ordered a shirt from ebay titled Joma Edinburgh City FC Quarter Zip Football Training Track Top Black White Sz L and here is my story, maybe you can help. I have sent this message to the seller Hi, just have one question. I see there are initials on it JP, can you please tell me the full name of the person that was wearing it. I want to know the story. It’s a gift for my friend, we are big football manager fans and we had a challenge with Edinburgh to win everything and he did make it. So just a info question to make this shirt even more valuable for us.

tamthebam
Sweating a bit there as City weren't drawn... don't fancy them.. they'll beat us.. been there.... Jeanfield Swifts is ok- followed them a bit last year in their cup exploits. They play nice football, have decent pies, aren't too far from Edinburgh and absolutely destroyed another ECFC in the cup last year (Elgin) which is slightly concerning...
tamthebam
If Josh Doig had been called up for the full Scotland squad then there would have been two players in it whose fathers played in the same Edinburgh City team for a number of seasons- Josh Doig (son of Tommy) and Andy Irving (son of Andy).

Its a very long shot but this could be a Lowland league fixture next season. Edinburgh City should be favorites for this tie but as you say the Swifts have a good cup record of late.
ARF1928
Work has now commenced on renovating the London Road building that has been owned by the club for some time now. It was very briefly our club shop during the FC Edinburgh () season, but has lay empty since. Signage is now up for both the very welcome return of the club shop, now including an official ticket office, and for The Edinburgh Sports Academy’s Learning Hub. This appears to be a forthcoming partnership, which can only be good news for a club which has done its fair share of burning bridges with local businesses under previous regimes. ARF1928
A horrible result to take today, but this is one positive. New owners in, club’s debt cleared, and a youth academy being re-established Superb https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/edinburgh-citys-new-owners-unveiled-as-debt-is-cleared-an-unique-ownership-is-explained-4809304?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1728143302
Tenkay
Sounds like good news! I know it will take some time yet, but I think we'll all be pleased once we've won a few games and see the squad being strengthened.

A very strange combination, not sure why these people thought to buy a small football club in Edinburgh when they have no obvious links, but their money is as good as anyones I suppose.

AllyMonc
Yesterday was the angriest I've been with the players/manager since Michael took over. I can only assume it's mental weakness that means we only perform when we're underdogs and why we completely s**t the bed whenever we have a position to protect late in the game. He needs to find a way to fix that or we're going to finish where everyone expected. Awful yesterday, absolutely awful. Started okay but looked lost after they scored. On the new ownership, who knows, I can't pretend I fully understand the model, feels a bit EduSport to me. Also the article refers to them as majority shareholders which is not reflected on Companies House, although it does look like we're issuing more shares so maybe they'll buy the new share issue and everyone else will be diluted. Recent history and general Scottish football context would suggest this will be a disaster but, can't be much worse than it's been this last wee while so let's be optimistic!
