Pleasantly surprised that you chaps seem to have a rational grasp of Irish history these days. Iain
I wonder if they're in administration because someone shafted them for £9.5m?
steelmen
Thought Elite was one of those companies that was a mix of Rangers and Hummel and only set up to manage the retail deal a bit like the one with rangers and sports direct. Since there is no business relationship, there is no point their being a company anymore.

AJF
It was an ill-advised plan in the first place, but as soon as the promotors started to badge it as Ange's homecoming and the fan backlash then there was only one outcome, they had to pull out. May turn out costly - but I'm assuming Rangers will argue they failed to keep their end of the bargain regarding the promotion so we will see. It was still the correct decision to pull out and our friendly against Leverkusen will go a little way to cover any potential legal costs.

bennett
Should have sent a youth/reserve team to play in it, pocketed the cash and the moved on. Money for nothing really but once the fans started kicking off that was it and now we're minus the fee plus a possible few million in court costs. Probably could have solved our defensive problems with that money, the easiest action would have been to ignore the game and not buy tickets.

You pulled out because you couldn’t use Old Firm You then embarrassed yourself further by plastering it all over your stadium the next time we showed up and pumped you

According to the snippet of that article you posted, things started to go downhill when disputes regarding the promotional material broke out. Presumably that'll be Rangers wanting to use the Old Firm branding whereas Celtic objected and it started to get branded as Ange's homecoming. I still expect the club would've went ahead with it had there been no fan backlash though as they initially came out and defended the decision before backtracking. And aye, the Old Firm banner was tinpot at the match.
The_Kincardine
Mr Beale should have been invited to stay on after Gerrard left so it's great to see him back. Just hope he has the haw maws to sort out our lazy, underachieving, squad. Mostly I want to highlight a Rangers fan called Alison for making a great 'dad joke' out of her new user name:
