RENFREW VICS goalkeeper Callum Reid played tribute to his team mates for holding

off a determined challenge from favourites Harmony Row in Saturday's SYFA West

Regional Cup Final at Petershill Park.

Two first half goals in a two minute spell put Renfrew in the driving seat. Row hit back

with a fine effort, but Vics ended any thoughts of a possible comeback with number

three on the counter attack near full-time.

Said Callum:  "We beat them in the league recently, and a few people maybe thought

our players would take things for granted at Petershill. That was never going  to be the

case.

"From a personal point of view, I want to thank Jonny Fyfe and Steven Mullen ( coaches)

for their work with me at the Shot Stoppers Goalkeeping Academy ( Giffnock) on the

morning of the match. I felt great going into the final.

"Dylan Austin ( Drumchapel Amateurs) also came in for a work-out before his team's

final against Calderbraes at Broadwood. Not only did he win, too, but was also named

Man of the Match, so it shows the Academy is doing something right!"
