Lofarl
Kane will be feeling stupid. Well a bit more than normal. Of course the multi millionare Messi could have stayed at the club he loves for even less than 50% Something like 10% even. How much money does he need?
Michael W
Just now, Merkland Red said: They needed him off the wage bill. His wages were that insane that they couldn't find anyone willing to pay a 34 year old that amount of money. That's why they pay a decent wedge of it. And it's exactly what I meant when I said Messi spat the dummy with decisions he didn't agree with. Letting Suarez go wasn't a bad decision. It had to be made. They could've sold Griezmann for a decent fee and simultaneously removed his high wage.

You can't force a player to leave though. They've been actively trying to sell him.

By, yet again, being the best player in the league and possibly the world. What a dick eh? Doesn't look great given Suarez pretty much won Atleti the league and Barca had no strikers for a season but sure.

The player can dig in, right enough, but the club can essentially push them out by makingvit clear they're not wanted.
sparky88
Moving a 34 year old off their wage bill will pay off for Barcelona in the long term, and probably the short term too. Messi will end up in Qatar anyway.

Suarez is at the tail end of his career and wasn't just signed for a ridiculous fee. It's a lot easier to take that hit than forcing Griezmann out in the same manner.

And the wage would be gone.

Closest they seemed to get was a swap for Saul.

J_Stewart
Barcelona are utter shite bags announcing the Messi news when they know the whole world is watching Galatasary-St Johnstone and not paying attention to anything else!
Thistle_do_nicely
Ronaldo + Messi teaming up late in their careers at Juventus to win trophies together. Prefer that over the grubbiness of him in a City or PSG strip tbh.
Jim McLean's Ghost
When you think about it Barca are only 14 Jack Grealishes in debt. Not that bad. Got linked this twitter thread that explains how screwed they are. It is a long read but gets into how La Liga rules are constraining what they can do Basically becuase they went over their salary limit any saving they make can only be put back in the team at 25% and 75% has to go towards clearing debt.

People get caught up in the product and forget the worth of anything lies in the process. Win or lose, it’s the fact that you tried, with all you could offer, to do the best at something you feel is of value. That alone is rewarding.

He’ll play in Europe (probably Barca as I’m not convinced he’s away) for another couple of years, before going to America. He has a house in Miami and Beckham's Inter Miami will be the new retirement home for superstars.

Messi brings in £20 million in tourism money right, see if he never brought that tourism money in, that club would be fucked mate, they'd fucking be living on £10 gyros mate.

Right enough, Barcelona might get into a bit of financial difficulty if he leaves
