Bishop Briggs
3 hours ago, Baxter Parp said: Er...that's it. Imagine if the SNP had tried to get away with this. How big a Bill or Act do you think is needed to authorise the Prime Minister to write a simple notification letter to the EU? The letter itself will equally simple. The SNP tried to get away with the White Paper's lies on EU Membership. The Commission, in replying to the SNP's Chair of the European Committee, debunked that nonsense in very clear terms.
Bishop Briggs
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38753808 "A shadow minister has quit Labour's front bench after being told to back legislation paving the way for the UK's departure from the EU. "Jeremy Corbyn has imposed a three-line whip on his MPs, telling them to back the newly-published bill." That's Gina Miller well and truly telt! So what will Sir Keir Starmer and Lady Emily Thornberry do now?

Founder of the Right Club which, to quote that mouthpiece of rabid Scottish nationalism The Spectator included: "MPs, peers and military brass as well as a smattering of aristocracy. When the club dined at the Russian Tea Room in Kensington, the fifth Duke of Wellington was in the chair. Close by was Lord Redesdale, father of the Mitford girls, including Diana (wife of Oswald Mosley) and the Hitler-worshipping Unity. Also on hand was Lord Lymington, who dreamed of an agrarian England populated by fair-skinned men and flaxen-haired maidens, living on an exclusively organic diet. Listed too in the ‘red book’ — now housed at London’s Weiner Library — alongside hardcore fascists such as Arnold Leese and the co-founder of the future National Front, A.K. Chesterton, was one Captain George Henry Drummond. Guests at Drummond’s parties at Pitsford Hall were expected to comply with an unusual dress code: Nazi uniform. All the better for admiring the hall’s swimming pool, the floor of which was decorated with a swastika." Ramsay was considered such a threat to national security by Churchill and the government of the time he was interned for four years, which puts Donaldson's six week stay in jail into a bit of perspective. Also worth noting there's no evidence of any kind Donaldson actually was any sort of fascist or indeed actually 'supported Hitler'. I think given Ramsay's little clique had the motto 'Perish Judah' and distributed leaflets after the war had started claiming "the stark truth is that this war was plotted and engineered by the Jews for world-power and vengeance" it's safe to say he was a fascist and did support Hitler. So erm no evidence then that the SNP as a party 'supported Hitler'. There's evidently a persistent insinuation some Scottish nationalists were sympathetic to fascism in the 30s. There's actually more evidence that some in the forerunner (not that there was even at the time much essential difference) of the modern Scottish Conservative and Unionist party actually supported Hitler. Of course both Arthur Donaldson's or Archibald Maule Ramsay's views are totally irrelevant to contemporary Scottish politics and you'd have to be a complete cretin to think otherwise.
