The Official Former President Trump thread

“US First Lady Melania Trump has called for adults to "take the lead" to encourage children to develop "positive habits with social media and technology".”
Irony overload.

I’ve never seen anything more blatantly made up by the White House press office. She’s utterly vacant, and does nothing as First Lady, so they give her a “campaign” to which nobody can possibly take issue.

And also, yes, closer to home is a better place to start.

Jared Kushner has had his “top secret” security clearance revoked.  That means he can be attending meetings with underlings who have a higher security clearance than he has!

If you think of the remit(s) he has and look at his background; imagine this was a proper job where you had to apply and pass an interview, his CV would not have made the first cut.

And now the White House is openly briefing against him,  The New York Times has a fairly damning story about shady loans deals.  Trump does this all the time - sacrificial lambs - when Mueller gets ever closer to Trump himself.

Mueller presses, the media senses blood, Trump rants incoherently, a cover story is thrown out, the media lap it up, and repeat... it's almost as if Donny is guilty as hell, and will sell out family to avoid Mueller.

There’s batshit mental then there’s “holy f**k that can’t be a real story can it; yes, yes it is, fucking hell” batshit mental.

I think this falls into the second category.

Sometimes the standard P&B response of "America " really is the only response.

In other Trump news, I see he’s come out pretty strongly in favour of raising the age to buy guns to 21, and of restricting sales to those with mental illness. He’s being criticised pretty strongly from both sides for that. America, eh?

Hope Hicks has also resigned just a few hours after her intel committee interview...

Trump isn’t in favour of gun control, Trump’s in favour of creating havoc and confusion and deflecting from other matters.  He knows that there will not be an acceptable bipartisan bill.

He’s now caused havoc by announcing that the US will be applying tariffs on steel and aluminium.  Stock markets falling on concerns about a trade war,  following an understandable response from trading partners.

Protectionist economics has its price.

Not the champion of Wall Street now aye Donny?

Along with immigration, tariffs are his signature issue. Markets being unhappy would be taken as a sign the "globalists" are upset at MAGA.

I dont see him as having anything to be worried about so far as his base is concerned with the announcement. How it plays out is another thing altogether.

The imported steel and aluminium is used by US companies to make goods which are, primarily, sold in the US.  Has anyone explained to a Trump the implication to these manufacturers of a 25% and 10% increase will be?  If they did would he understand?
