Blaming Russia is the new witch hunt.

Early evidence suggests the Democrats haven't learned a thing. Instead of putting forward a decent candidate with broad appeal and policies that could genuinely make a difference, they're going to go all in on a beige, centrist robot and hope they can propagandize the public into backing them.

It’s not about broad appeal, and it’s not even about policy. It’s about the swing states. This election is all to do with winning the states that aren’t die-in-the-wool Trump. To do that, Democrat candidates have to go straight down the middle, almost as if policy doesn’t matter (and to Trump voters, it doesn’t).

To do that, Joe Biden’s the obvious candidate.

There are more talented, more original, more progressive candidates, and some of them are genuinely excellent, but each of them can easily be portrayed as radical on certain issues. If the Democrats were competently managed, they’d ignore the “progressive” wing and pretend they don’t exist until 2025. But Pelosi seems keen to promote the divide for some reason. If they were competently managed, at least four of those candidates would have dropped out.

They’ve got a lot going for them - never Trump Republicans, die hard Democrats - whatever candidate they put up. They’ve got to pick the one who doesn’t say anything to remotely offend either the 5% who voted for Obama and Trump, or the Republicans who see through Trump but fear social health care and fall for the rhetoric.

For this reason, Republican-lite candidates will not carry enough weight with Democrats on the left, though.

Beige wins the day in 2020.

"Study after study has shown that video games do not lead to an increase violent behavior, despite repeated, unsubstantiated claims to the contrary in moments like this. Furthermore, video games were secured First Amendment protection as an art form in 2011 when California attempted to criminalize the sale of violent video games to minors. Of all people, it was Justice Antonin Scalia who wrote the most compelling defense of the games, and dismissal of science trying to “prove” their harmful effects"   (quoted from Forbes)

SYDNEY — U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper said he wants to deploy an intermediate range conventional missile in the Pacific region within months, now that the Trump administration has formally pulled out of a Cold War-era arms control treaty with Russia.

Esper, however, added that it will likely take some time to develop the more advanced land-based missile capabilities. The move is likely to anger China, but Esper said Beijing shouldn't be surprised by it.

"It's fair to say, though, that we would like to deploy a capability sooner rather than later," Esper told reporters traveling with him to Australia on Friday. "I would prefer months. I just don't have the latest state of play on timelines."

Esper’s comments come as the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces treaty expired Friday, and the U.S. said it planned to begin testing new missiles that would have been prohibited under the accord. The U.S. has complained for years that Moscow has been violating the treaty and that a Russian system banned by the agreement is a direct threat to the U.S. and its allies.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the formal U.S. withdrawal on Friday, saying that “the United States will not remain party to a treaty that is deliberately violated by Russia.”

Esper, who was confirmed as Pentagon chief on July 23, wouldn't detail possible deployment locations in Asia, saying it would depend on discussions with allies and other factors. He downplayed any reaction from China, saying that "80 percent plus of their inventory is intermediate range systems, so that shouldn't surprise them that we would want to have a like capability."

He said that because of the great distances within the Indo-Pacific region, U.S development of effective intermediate range precision weapons is important.

Some Pentagon estimates have suggested that a low-flying cruise missile with a potential range of about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) could be flight-tested this month and be ready for deployment in 18 months. A ballistic missile with a range of roughly 3,000 to 4,000 kilometers (1,860 to 2,490 miles) could take five years or more to deploy. Neither would be nuclear armed. LOL 😂

The INF treaty was signed in 1987 and banned land-based missiles of ranges between 500 and 5,500 kilometers (310 and 3,410 miles). Its demise comes as world powers seek to contain the nuclear threat from Iran and North Korea. And it signals another milestone in the deterioration of relations between the U.S and Russia.

Esper also added his voice to those who believe that extending the New START Treaty may not make sense. New START expires in February 2021, and is the only remaining treaty constraining U.S. and Russian nuclear arsenals.

Trump has called New START "just another bad deal" made by the Obama administration, and has said he wants to negotiate a three-way nuclear arms control agreement among the U.S., Russia and China.

Esper said the U.S. should look at bringing in other nuclear powers and expand the types of weapons controlled by the treaty. He added that he does not believe this will trigger a new arms race, but that the U.S. needs to deploy missile capabilities that can protect both Europe and the Pacific region.

The USA is quietly starting a new nuclear arms race.

Hopefully the populations of South Korea, Japan and Australia take a bit more notice of US nuclear missiles than we do in Europe.

The new Chris Morris movie is about the FBI manufacturing their own terrorist plots. As it says in the trailer it's "based on a 100 true stories". You don't hear much about all the mainly poor and brown people serving long sentences because Robert Mueller's FBI decided to f**k them over to create an atmosphere of terror and justify mass surveillance.

I strongly suspect that the Tsarnev brothers and their mate who the FBI murdered in Florida were involved in something like this.
