NorthernLights
I lean more towards blackgaze when it comes to this sort of music. The two main bands from that area that I listen to are Alcest and Deafheaven. Blackgaze mixes shoegaze with black metal so I know it won't be to everyones tastes in this thread.

NorthernLights
Deafheaven have a new song out, with pretty much no black metal style vocals this time.

Personally my favourite Slowdive album by a long way is "Pygmalion". If there is anything unreleased from that era, then I'd love to hear it.

Gonna download the others today. Not much online about them I can only find a couple of album reviews. Jimi Shandrix
As someone who lived through shoegaze mk1 and saw most of the bands involved, I would like to bring these long forgotten chancers to the party. They were to shoegaze what Northside were baggy or Menswear were to britpop and while this was their only good song, it was a cracker and an indie disco favourite at the time.
Jimi Shandrix
Drop Nineteens were one of the few non Thames Valley acts, along with Medicine and the early Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa stuff, from the first wave. The first Drop Nineteens album actually stands up as one of the best today imo.
Jimi Shandrix
"Fluidtrance Centauri" is such a great ep. This is probably my favourite track from it. A couple of years later they became an ambient outfit and released a brilliant album called "Free D"

Debut album was disappointing but the early EP's were quality. Personally prefer songs like Crimson, Painting Pictures, Red All Over, and Venice

It would be a strong contender for the sappiest song of the whole genre.

Jimi Shandrix
This was on a flexi from 1988. It's a real shame they never revisited it for "The Comforts Of Madness" or even a B-side on one of the EP's. In keeping with almost everything they did, it is fucking marvellous.
