Arabdownunder
Just now, Zen Archer said: Was that a Renault? Handbrake on the dashboard? Yep. Renault 4. Not just the handbrake (red arrow in the pic) but the gear lever stuck out of the dashboard as well (knob to the left of the steering wheel)
Swordfishtrombone
This was my gateway song to good music. The Beautiful South remain a very underrated band. I was 10 when this came out and this was the first cassette album I ever bought with my own money(accumulated pocket money)
Hedgecutter
I was at a quiz last night on a team with a young Scottish PhD student who didn't know the name of this guy: He's also never heard of a Sega Mega Drive.

I'm 36 but I can only barely remember the old UK wrestling but it's a total blur. I can remember Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks etc but not really from watching it. Vague memories of an Irish guy who used to get battered off his wife whenever he lost and auld grannies running belting haystacks with their bags. Did big daddy used to advertise sauce? -
Cerberus
Does anyone remember the weird rumour that you could get free calls by tapping the digits of the telephone number on hang up button?

Not certain if it was free but you could definitely tap out the number that way. Hard to do without messing up, especially with a few zeros.

You used to be able to get free calls out of these if you used a lollipop stick in the money slot to trick the mechanism that you had pushed a coin in.
