Glad that a neutral seen it and has commented on it. He is so inept at this level its truly embarrassing. Taking nothing away from the bens they more than deserved their victory but it's a big call in a vital part of the match.

Yes he got a few decisions wrong in my book
1 never a penalty and a sending off
2 just before that he booked our no 10 Mark McKeever for diving was a definite foul outside the box not a penalty
3 your no14 should have been sent off in the second half for 2 fouls that were definitely yellows but only gave a foul for the second one
As there are no proper 2nd officials in these games it is very hard for the referees, however over the course of the season they even themselves out if you guys can win all your remaining games you will be very happy

There're is more then the fair share of poor refs out especially in the adl the watch too much professional refs

but publicly outing a singal ref is a bit harsh no wonder there's not a lot wanting to do the job

Bonnyrigg  today had an offside given against them, 5 yards in their own half. Ref maintained he was correct, where ball is played is where free kick given

That is correct, rule changed at last years euros.

Free kick is taken where the offense is committed.

So if offside (obviously in opponent half) but run into own half to collect the ball, free kick is taken from there.

I am a bit puzzled by this, as you dont need to play the ball to be offside. Surely when player moves toward ball the offence is committed and in this case that was in the lochee half.

If an attacker is in an offside position and runs back towards his own goal to receive a long ball/pass from a team mate and touches it in his own half, the indirect free kick can be given in the attackers own half.

Hard to explain and a bit of a pointless addition.

Good decision then given the recent rule change. Have to say I never understood the reasoning behind the change though. Seems to just add to the confusion.
