Guest Jedi
'All flute and no toot' indeed, as Ginger Dug puts it. As said, I look forward to Ruth arguing for Brexit (even a no deal one), in the next year, after appearing on stage for the Remain campaign. Sure it will all be about respecting the result of the EU Ref, as she is a democrat (sic), and of course therefore the people of Scotland should respect the result of 2014. She has of course yet to make a positive case for the union. Her one trick pony of stopping a 2nd Ref which has now been rolled out as the Scottish Tories one and only policy for a GE, a Euro election and even local elections has run out of steam. It has been overtaken by the utter shambles of the Tories at Westminster. Even folk who voted for them in the Council elections in (reasonable) numbers, now appear to have deserted them again, mostly and probably this time around for the Gammon Party, who funnily enough also only have a single policy. Thankfully, the Scottish Tories are now back to their pre-local election and last GE levels and below. Sure, we will now hear her only other tune 'about getting on with the day job', after all the Westminster Tories are doing that so successfully. Incredibly the most popular pro-union party in Scotland following the EU election results are the Lib Dems. (the Gammons haven't even mentioned Scottish Independence yet). If there were to be another GE soon, the Lib Dems could probably pick up some continued support as the pro-Europe, pro-union party. However with the SNP continuing to hover around 40%, that isnt going to make much electoral inroads either. In short the stop a 2nd Ref and get on with the day job has become yesterdays soundbite.

Both these soundbites will be back in play for the next election, as I reckon most No voters hate the idea of indyref2 more than they hate brexit. They'll happily revert to the flag-waver in chief and her band of merry men.

Bring Your Own Socks
Incredible quote from Brexit-backing senior Tory pary member Jack Irvine, former editor at The Scottish Sun, criticising the Tank Commander's involvement in supporting a Brexiteer Tory candidate at the Peterborough by-election. As quoted by The National; “A number of my Tory friends in London stuck the Davidson letter under my nose last night and said: ‘Who does this woman think she is? She’s not an MP. She sits in the Scottish Parliamentand she’s never won an election’. With her work-mum May out of the road she's going to be awfy short of pals on both sides of the border soon. Tee, hee, hee!

I like this Tank Commander thing. Should start calling her Gary.

ICTJohnboy
Guaranteed all those launching their leadership campaigns from today, and from now on will be pledging to reverse this decision - which as Welshbairn says has been caused by the Tory Gov/t withdrawing the grant that funded it.

She knows her opposing it won't make a jot of difference, and ultimately she'll go along with it as she does all abhorrent Tory policies like the rape clause, but it limits the damage to her reputation in the minds of the gullible. Pure propaganda campaign being waged on an ongoing basis to prevent Scottish self-government. She is just the conduit for it.

It doesn't matter who it is, she has zero principles zero backbone is 100% a pure careerist without a shred of decency, integrity of honesty in her entire being. She has one political view outside of fk kafflicks and one only, under no circumstances should Scotland ever elect its own governments. It could be skeletor she'd be on TV saying well I always thought he-man was a c**t. And her pals in the media would let her away with it. He'll ask her to do a plenary speech about how great he is while he sits on stage, nodding approvingly. Ritual humiliation the order of the day. Excellent. Yes, the public school and Tory way.
