Glasgow Loon
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40125394 Chelsea got £150.8m for being champions. Sunderland who finished bottom got £93.471m which is more than 15-16 champions Leicester got.
lubo_blaha
Obscene amounts of money I know but what they have spot on is the proportionate distribution throughout the league. The Premier League understand that by splitting the revenue fairly evenly they can create a more competitive league with the top club earning roughly 1.5x as much as the bottom club. You just have to look at La Liga to see how lop sided revenue distribution kills competitiveness. Even in our Premiership (although on a much smaller scale) the top club gets 3x more than the bottom club.
Cruyff14
I seen a stat on twitter yesterday saying that Sunderland's prize money was more than Monaco, Bayern & Juventus all got for winning their respectives leagues. Mad I tell you, mad.
TheBuckfastTriangle
1:1.61 Ratio between top and bottom in England is more or less the same as between top and THIRD in our top tier.
Barry Ferguson's Hat
The WINners should WIN all the money. It's in the name.
lanky_ffc
It's an obscene amount of money, but that's what happens when you've got the best marketed league in the world. And it's kind of offset by the inflated transfer fees and wages everyone ends up paying.
