boulderdomb
It's amazing - they can provide £1 billion to The DUP - who are against same-sex marriage and abortion but they can't provide for the poor, the NHS or education. Fantastic display of Conservative reputation.

tarapoa
Interesting to see the 'loophole' that will be applied to ensure this funding has no implications whatsoever for the Barnett Formula.

Fide
I personally can't wait for the Scottish commentariat and the assorted cap doffing Unionists on here to celebrate the fact that Scotland won't get the additional Barnett funding the UK Government rules says it should.
Colkitto
Unionist journos riding to quell the natives before it all gets out of hand. Torrance (expected) Clegg (not expected) Torrance is a Tory so I'm not surprised he's taken to Twitter almost instantly to explain this has nothing to do with Barnett and all is fine. The Daily Record's Clegg doing just enough to not show he's completely backing this, but is trying to down play it's impact of Scotland losing out.

welshbairn
Works out at over £800 for every man, woman and child in Northern Ireland.
FlyerTon
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/theresa-agrees-1-billion-deal-10689657 The government will make £400 million available for infrastructure development in Northern Ireland. A further £150 million will be spent on ultrafast broadband in the province. £200 million will go towards "transforming the health service" - despite a £22billion cutbacks programme across Britain. Schools and Hospitals in Northern Ireland will get £100 million to "address immediate pressures." A further £100 million will go to "target pockets of severe deprivation", despite continuing welfare cuts and the benefit freeze in Britain. And over five years, £50 million will be spent on mental health services, including tackling the lasting effect on people of the Troubles.
The Master
43 minutes ago, Colkitto said: It's not just Mundell; Ruth Davidson seems pretty keen to exert some control over the other Scottish Tory MPs. Surely she can't have them back a deal that sees the Parliament of which she is a member get less money than one that isn't even constituted at the moment? This certainly represents an excellent opportunity for all Scottish Tory MPs to demonstrate they aren't just going to fall into line with whatever London tells them. After mocking Labour for needing to pick an Englishman as Shadow Scottish Secretary in the last Parliament, the Tories might be in a similar position for the actual SoS.

Granny Danger
A Conservative government using taxpayers money to prop up a Conservative government.
