Rumour has it that there was one late application, not considered at the EoS EGM. Does anyone know who it was/is - guesses include Bo'ness ? Dunbar ?

I heard it was Ballingry Rovers, rising from the dead and selling 5 loaves and two fishes in their canteen[emoji106]

What?

Cinderford Town (Southern League '2nd 'division)(4th non league tier) declined promotion, and were advised that this was a breach of the rules. They were given the choice of accepting promotion, or of being demoted. They accepted promotion.

Don't think that's true. Clubs have to apply to be eligible for promotion from step 7 to step 6 of nonleague in the English pyramid and given the disparity in populations between Scotland and England that's probably roughly comparable to moving from tier 6 to tier 5 at the moment in a Scottish context.

Yes but these relate to clubs that are Tiers 10 & 11 overall in the English pyramid

I'm not sure where the SFA fits into any of that.

England has ten times the population that Scotland does. Having 42 teams in the national divisions and 34 in tier 5 is equivalent to having about 800 clubs at those levels in England. That takes you down a lot of tiers.

Have a look at the non league restructuring which the SFA is implementing for 2018/19. There are some specific points about the Northern League.

The Northern League is in England. The SFA does not have any jurisdiction over leagues in the English pyramid.

The Northern League, the one in NE England? It might be referred to, but they don't make the rules for leagues in different countries.

Apologies it was a typo... I meant the English FA.  Have a look at the English FA restructuring  for next season.

PS  Sorry to folks from Shildon, Ashington, etc, as I know you don't live in Scotland.

That's what you would be told in Washington DC. ..don't belive the hype! That's all I'm saying.

Fortunately Donald T doesn't have any jurisdiction over the English FA, nor the SFA, and hopefully not the UK press.

Those two and Ross County have had huge amounts of money pumped in by benefactors. Peterhead to a lesser degree. Elgin are nearer to a bench mark.

Comparing 2 clubs to 2 other clubs when you're at the head of an organisation representing over 150+ members is not the point. 90% of them will probably never play in the SPFL. That doesn't mean the majority cannot benefit from being in an integrated pyramid.

We're meant to have UEFA to thank for the pyramid we have, the next version we'll see is being molded by individual clubs. Yet there are those looking to the same two people (TJ & McRae) for change when they've already spent the past 13 years talking about it and doing next to nothing.

It was you that made the comparison.
