Well, despite a lot of speculation City won’t be bidding for Kyogo who is surely a far better option than Idah. Does your quote mean O’Riley is staying as well ?

Options are great to have, both Kyogo and Idah are very different options to deploy depending on game management and the opposition.

O'Riley will eventually move on if not in this window.

Well looks like it close to official O'Riley to Brighton is as good as done. £25m rising to £30m with add-ons.

Big week coming up now.

Disappointing to lose Matt, £25million is a lot for an SPL team to receive but still think Brighton getting him a bit cheap. (As in they'll make a profit in a year or two  when they sell him on).

Got 2 and a half seasons from him and I believe almost 24 million profit so on paper it’s amazing business, it looks as if we are looking at Matuesz Bogusz from LAFC as a possible replacement.

Mad to think we only went for him after Riley McGree chose Middlesbrough over us and we paid about a third of he was going to cost iirc.

It baffles me when you see this level of entitlement on display considering the success Celtic continue to enjoy.

It’s not as if they don’t spend either. They’ve just forked out ~£10m on a single player with links mentioned above to another £9m rated player.

LB , CB , Bogusz , Engels , Winger would be an ideal end to the window.

Hopefully guys like Lagarbielke and MJ do move on and perhaps Yang if we do indeed get another winger

Looks like a LB is sorted at least for a season

They've won almost everything in the last 13 years and they're still kicking off.

They are bored like the rest of us I think. Everyone knows someone who manufactures drama just to make life more interesting.

Celtic fans should be kicking off, their club continuously refuses to chase European success and cement their domestic dominance for good because theyre happy to remain permanently 2 steps ahead of Rangers, despite seeing just years ago it just takes one bad season for them to be caught.

Could be worse I suppose. We could vastly overspend through cheating and then die.

Along with them losing the final, it was pretty much the only other silver lining about rangers run in the Europa was that it blew the "we can't compete in Europe" narrative completely out the water. I think I can safely say the vast majority of Celtic fans (myself included) are abit f**ked off about how inept we have been in Europe the past few years. We should be doing better. The year we ran into Bodo/Glimt in the Conference league was a massive missed opportunity.

I'm cautiously optimistic we will bring in the quality players the manager wants this week. But if the board do shaft us again, I can see a lot of unrest forthcoming. Fans won't accept being short-changed much longer

I’m not sure that comparison works here when it’s Celtic fans that are abusing Lawwell for not spending, despite signing the second most expensive player in Scottish football history just last week.

I think there’s a case for there to be criticisms of hoarding cash and not investing enough, but to the extent where Lawwell is being confronted and abused outside a stadium, I’m not so sure.

Lawwell's always been a p***k, claiming we cant compete with clubs down south but still managing to average 60 grand a week at one point which was double what our highest paid was on. Despite hoarding cash for years and years they still charged us full whack for the empty COVID season with a club shop voucher given out rather than any refund or discount for the following season. Add in about to be charged 200 quid for the champions league games for season ticket holders it's not just lack of investment it's absolutely taking the piss out of the fans. I do think the chairman role he he carries out is misunderstood and/or overstated by fans but he should never have been appointed it such is the disdain from fans towards him. The  'self-entitlement' around this is firmly on the boards side.

I can completely appreciate some disdain being directed for the reasons you mention. My point was more specific about transfer spend and the abuse he received regarding it.

From the outside looking in, it’s hardly as if Celtic don’t reinvest in the squad. If Transfermarkt is to be roughly accurate, you’re looking at about £80m+ spent on incoming transfers since the summer that Postecoglou joined.

The 80 million I would be a bit dubious about as alot of people use sources like transfermarket which for some reason has us paying 17 million euros for Jota which never happened unless that's including the cut the following seasons for the transfer fee we got for him also. Also given how much money we have raked in for the past decade starting the season with one left back and one striker with a dodgy shoulder for  is shite planning for any professional club,  it's ridiculous for a club with our resources.

It was Transfermarkt I was looking at which has your transfer spend as:

24/25: €15.1m

23/24: €25.86m

22/23: €38.88m

21/22: €26.47

That’s a total of €106.31m. As you mention, the Jota fee was reported on there as 17m instead of 7m, so I made a deduction and if we say €96m, then converting and rounding down to £80m, I can’t see many other fees that look like they’d be reported incorrectly.

So maybe it’s just me not being appreciative of the overall situation (you mention the striker and left back issues), but I was just surprised to see that level of abuse directed regarding the lack of transfer spend when it’s not as if Celtic have been spending a pittance.

I've just had a quick look through. It has us paying for more for the likes of Oh but only getting 4 million euros for GG? Alot of it doesn't make the slightest bit of sense.
