Also it did look like 2 dives from him and Zanatta so Smith needs to have, word. Hate seeing that on a football pitch.

I'd like to see the highlights for Vaughan's 1st before I comment. Thought at the time he was caught by the defender even if he was a bit theatrical in the aftermath.

Thought Raith did edge it in the second half on pressure but our goalie yet again drops a catch when he could have punched it/held it and that was that for the day. Airdrie did play with real vigour and frustrated Raith. I also think whilst Vaughan is very talented I agree with an earlier post that he is inclined to go it alone. If that is Raith winning ugly then the title is surely on its way when you start playing well. If Airdrie would only match that effort against the other sides I could enjoy Saturday a bit more. Furtado was certainly a handful for Raith and had more shots today than we have had in 6 other games. As for the dives the one in the second half was very obvious/the first half was too far away to see-Zanatta had an even more spectacular one which I saw against Albion rovers for QP last season, so like many forwards he has history in that regard, despite his undoubted ability in attack. Given all the pre match predicted scores I will aplogise for also fearing a thumping was on the cards

As others have said, winning games like that will get us over the line this season. We struggled badly but some credit to Airdrie who weren't nearly as bad as I'd hoped they might be.

Davidson was probably my MoM again.

Really disappointed with Vaughan and Zanatta and their embarrassing diving. I presume that either Smith didn't get the board memo or the players aren't listening.

Big shout out to the Airdrie strip. Absolutely fucking beautiful. Classic, unique & timeless. I wish we had something we could call our own rather than it just being a Ross County/Falkirk/Dundee interchangeable prototype. Saw it up close when an Airdrie supporter was walking to the stadium just in front of me, probably my favourite Scottish strip.

Missed the game today, and haven’t seen any photo’s, but is that the black with the red V? Seen a boy with it walking towards San Starko as I was heading to the party I was at. If so, absolute belter [emoji1305]

Young Dario Z looks a player at this level. Good close control and has has a bit of swagger about him. If he can get his head up a little more and stop trying to dribble past the whole opposition and cut out that diving shite, he'll be a very handy player during his spell with us.

On the game - can't complain at grinding out a result against a well organised Airdrie side. Furtado looked useful and caused us a few problems. Probably should of scored early in the second half too. Robertson needs to come back into the midfield asap. He's a little bit of a bombscare at CH. Not his fault, but the sooner we get some cover in there the better if Smith is refusing to play McKay.

The 'twa hoops' or the half and half 125 year strips are our best chance at something more unique but we seem to revert to type.

Just a pity we've not got a club that deserve it.

Ok, 1st things 1st, the 2 diving bookings. Contact was slight if at all and both Lewis and Dario deserved their cards, as said earlier you can cut that shite out straight away.

Lewis man of the match? Sorry but I thought he was quite greedy and wasteful yesterday and the pressure on him to score meant he didn't have a great game (in comparison to recent weeks), hopefully with the pressure off he will be back to his brilliant best next week at Cliftonhill. Had he scored yesterday I might not had had the same view but alas he didn't.

Davo was my MotM by a clear distance. Robertson on the other hand had a bit of a mare, boy do we need another CB on loan or possibly a LB. Unfortunately the rumour doing the rounds is that following further Op's to both Cuthbert and McHattie there is no money for a loanee despite what was reported in last weeks papers.

We had to be patient yesterday as we were up against a well organised team who (according to away fans) raised there game significantly and were determined to defend in numbers and hit on the break with Furtado.   I also thought Jordan McGregor at No 5 had a good game, he's only 20 and on loan from Hamilton but looked very steady.  Pass marks for all at SP yesterday to the  Raith fans for staying with the team and to the players for grinding out the result, there will be many more games like this at home I think.  If I was doing the press star check my points would go to Davidson, Smith and Barr as I thought despite his goal Thomson had a slightly poor 1st half.  There were no real failures though.

So you’ll believe “the rumour doing the rounds” instead of what Barry Smith himself was quoted as saying in an interview? We’ll be bringing in another defender.

Agree that Davo was man of the match and it’s good to see him back to his best after a difficult start to the season.
