Ugly win and most importantly 3 points.

Glad Vaughan didn't score today. He really wasn't a team player today trying at every occasion to score himself when a pass was the far better option. Hopefully that's out his system now.

Also it did look like 2 dives from him and Zanatta so Smith needs to have, word. Hate seeing that on a football pitch.

Really need Robertson back into midfield as we look lost in there just now and the game is bypassing Herron and Matthews.

Well, that wasn't pretty but we got the job done. Airdrie came with a different plan compared to the last few teams we've faced and made it a lot more difficult. They got a lot of our fans frustrated, and our players were limited in what they could do.

I'd hope Zanatta will start next weekend. Spence had a decent game, but Dario came on and it gave it a physical presence.

Delighted we got the break through and kept our start going. Vaughan not scoring was a shame given the strike that hit the bar, but I'm sure he'll be scoring in no time.

Two hugely difficult games next with our makeshift defence. I hope we can make another signing to get Robbo out of defence. Smith looked a bit shakey , but his save against Furtado was excellent. The sooner we get Benedictus and Lennox back the better.

Despite all their of the field problems Airdrie put in a cracking shift. The cause a lot of teams problems this season if they stay that resolute.

Thought Airdrie played well and were one of the tougher challenges we have faced this season. Furtado was very decent and caused us a lot of problems.

We didn't play great but showed patience to get the win. Zanatta made the difference for me, gave us a much greater threat going forward and he deserved his goal. A bit disappointed that Vaughan won't break the record but I'm sure Jason Thomson will. Absolute goal machine

Hard team to break down but as someone else said we had to be patient.  Grinding out results like todays isn't pretty or exciting but another 2 goals, a clean sheet and 3 more points, whats not to like plus the crowd actually stayed behind the team without the usual booing that would have happened last season.  Well done to the players and the fans, another happy Saturday night:thumsup2

Thomson tweet to Vaughan: “leave it to me wee man [emoji6]” haha. Anyone else see Barr tell a few Rovers fans to ‘shut the f**k up’ in the 2nd half when it was 0-0. He’s some character.

He's also fucking right, which is the main point. An old boy near me, a group of them really, just sat and moaned and groaned and complained about everything we tried. We'd had about 7 corners which had the same outcome - a good cross with no takers - and we took a short one to mix it up and I thought he was going to combust. He should've been sitting on his hands thoroughly embarrassed with himself when we scored.

Always Next Season says our team was:

Scott Thomson
Stephen MacAnespie
Jason Rowbotham
Colin Cameron
Shaun Dennis
David Sinclair
Barry Wilson
Stevie Crawford
Ally Graham
Danny Lennon
Jason Dair

Subs: Broddle, Dalziel, Allan

Evidently Colin Cameron scored our goal in what was an absolute tonking.

Crowd: 7,130.

There was some atmosphere at that game. From memory, the Airdrie crowd was a wee bit nutty. Folk from Carlisle in attendance.

14th March 1995. My daughter's birthday is 14th March 2010.

Can mind folk hanging out the windows to the left of the stand we were in watching the game with cargos.

As you said, (lellywong)  "another Saturday " ...with  3 points!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             WWe'll have a few Saturdays like this where teams totally sit in, one man up front.

Patience is the answer for both the team AND fans.

The Arbroath game will be interesting.

Let's get right behind the Rovers!!

Special note to the big laddie up front for Airdrie. What a handful he is. Where did he come from?

He was with Stenhousemuir last season. Before that I don't know, or even where he was at the beginning of this season.

Two goalkeeping errors cost Airdrie the game. For all the five nil chat, it looked like two average teams. Raith certainly had more possession but weren't really threatening.  Fair enough though, they're the results that win you the league. Sure Raith will play better, not sure we will. An expected defeat but not with the grandeur we were led to believe.
