tamthebam
Police seize 'beer bike' in Edinburgh over traffic offences - BBC News see, where they went wrong is that the cyclist should have put on the magic food delivery backpack that renders any road traffic crimes invisible to Police Scotland.

MEADOWXI
It has been illegal to not wear a seat belt when driving since 1983 It has been illegal to use a phone while driving since 2003 The reduction of limits and constant news about drink driving means everyone must know it. You would have to be pretty old to be able to say 'when I learned to drive I didn't need to belt up, or not use a phone when driving, and a couple of drinks were OK' I cannot understand how people taught to drive in the last twenty years don't know these basics.
Jives Miguel
My neighbour thought this was acceptable parking. Left a note on the windshield calling them a selfish c**t

Three gins and just the one bottle of tonic is to his credit.

They know - they just choose to believe such trivial stuff doesn't apply to them as they are invincible and expert drivers with all of a couple of years experience behind them.

Kent won’t do it again.

Salt n Vinegar
As the road through the Cameron Toll area is knackered*, a wee head's up for anyone thinking of taking Old Church Lane road through Duddingston Village - watch out for some pretty brutal potholes. As an aside, won't the road maintenance problems get worse as more electric cars are bought, replacing petrol/diesel ones? As I understand it, electric cars are heavier due to the size of the battery. Happy days. (*Technical term.)

Maybe less so the cars, but the fully electric buses are incredibly heavy - as you may have noticed with the newer Edinburgh ones, they are longer (not necessarily to take more passengers, but in order to accomodate the batteries). This extra weight and length means they need an extra axle as well. That Cameron Toll ones a total mare (not a road issue so nobodys to blame, the culvert for the Pow Burn collapsed). One of Mrs LG friends lives in Prestonfield and they were told by plod (on the QT) that the bus gate camera had been shut off temporarily at the start of the works. However, she doesnt know if it is now back on, and its a £60 fine if you get captured...............................

They get lighter as the day goes on.
tamthebam
Before the Electric buses I was blaming the rise of SUVs for potholes as they're heavier than other cars.
