Spyro
Tbf, it's just unfortunate geography with these Borders towns, Selkirk was/is always the same. Build a town in the middle of a tight valley, the only flat land to make a football or rugby pitch is at the bottom next to the river. Showed up to Selkirk away twice and BOTH times got a late call off as the park was waterlogged. Hawick was slightly better but that because they ammys played at Wilton Park and the water would just run straight down the hill, through the bottom goals and into the river! Maybe HRA need to move the old stand brick by brick to Wilton and just deal with the slope?!

bobbydazzler
See Rosyth played their last game at the Fleet Grounds this past weekend. There is absolutely no way their new home at Pitreavie will be ready for the new season, I doubt it will be even started for the new season.

Burnieman
From what I could see, it's doubtful it will tick many more boxes than the Fleet Grounds did.

HibeeJibee
Plans to create a stand at Haddington Athletic FC's Millfield home | East Lothian CourierTHE “last piece of the jigsaw” could be put in place at the home of Haddington Athletic Football Club. The East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) side are looking to create a fully covered, seated stand at their Millfield home. Drew Donaldson, chairman, felt it was the next step forward for the club, who have enjoyed an impressive couple of years on the pitch. He said: “It has probably been for a couple of years that we have been thinking about it. “We decided to put in for planning permission to get things moving that way and get an indication of whether it is going to be accepted. “Millfield is in a conservation area, which makes getting permission a wee bit harder, but, hopefully, it is realised Millfield is a football ground and the stand would enhance the ground. “It might be the last piece of the jigsaw when you look at what has happened over the years. “In 1972, it was basically two fences and the original pavilion. “I think we have done pretty well to improve the ground over the years. “We got floodlights a couple of years ago and to me the last piece of the jigsaw would be to put covered seating in, which would be great.” Mr Donaldson, who has been involved with the Hi Hi’s for more than 50 years, told the Courier that the club’s average attendance of 260 was among the best in the league. Now, it is hoped that the seated area will help boost that figure even further. He said: “We’ve got floodlights, we’ve got the pavilion in the ground, which it was not for a time. “This would be for families or older folk that don’t want to stand for 90 minutes. “It gives options for people.” Plans for the 158-seat stand, which would be on the opposite side of the ground from the existing standing enclosure and back on to Mill Wynd, are now with East Lothian Council’s planning department. A decision is expected by early August, with the scheme anticipated to cost somewhere between £80,000 and £90,000. Funding would come from the club, as well as other sources, with the chairman keen for progress to be made.23/00626/P | Erection of 158 seater stand with roof canopy and associated works | Millfield Park Football Ground Mill Wynd Haddington East Lothian
lithgierose
Don't know when the work was done. But whitburn is looking good with the now seated enclosure. Old steps done away with and all slabbed now. Ground near the forth should take note -
