Nick_BCFC
As the title says - Has a team ever lost 0-5 at home in a season they went on to win the league?
energyzone
I assume you are talking about in a league match. Otherwise Celtic's 0-5 loss to PSG will be one, assuming they will win the league again this season.Another I was thinking about was Newcastle beating Man Utd in '96 but that was at St James' Park.

Not quite the same, but I remember Ayr cantering the league in 87/88 and scoring 95 goals in the process, never managed a goal in our 3 games against St Johnstone.

HibeeJibee
Record home defeat for the champion is a 5-goal defeat and happened twice... Celtic 0-5 Hearts (1895-96) and Airdrie 1-6 Morton (2003-04). Defeat by 4 goals has only happened 10 times btw... Rangers 1-5 Morton (1910-11); St Johnstone 0-4 Cowdenbeath (1923-24); Helensburghs 1-5 Vale of Leven (1925-26); Rangers 'B' 0-4 St Mirren 'B' (1952-53); Rangers 'B' 1-5 Partick 'B' (1953-54); Hamilton 1-5 Meadowbank (1987-88); Brechin 1-5 Stirling (1989-90); Falkirk 0-4 Clydebank (1993-94); ICT 0-4 Forfar (1996-97) and Livingston 0-4 Raith (2000-01). Record was almost equalled by Stirling 1-6 Arbroath (1948-49), and almost broken by Hearts 1-7 Dundee Utd (1964-65)... Both those clubs lost the title on Goal Average, in part due to those very same thrashings.

HibeeJibee
Queen's Park are of course the only club to have won the Scottish Cup having lost a game. In 1892-93 they lost the Final 1-0 to Celtic but it was voided due to the state of the pitch and the won the repeat 2-1. Few clubs have lost 2 games but still won the League Cup:* 1950-51 ... Motherwell lost 1 sectional game + QF 2nd leg * 1951-52 ... Dundee lost 2 sectional games * 1960-61 ... Rangers lost 2 sectional games * 1962-63 ... Hearts lost 2 sectional games * 1965-66 ... Celtic lost 2 sectional games * 1976-77 ... Aberdeen lost 1 sectional game + QF 2nd leg * 1980-81 ... Dundee Utd lost R3 1st leg + QF 1st leg

Audaces Fortuna Juvat
I seem to remember Liverpool taking a five goal thrashing at Villa when they won the league in their heyday.
afca32
Keith beat Forres Mechanics 6-0 days after Forres won the title in 2012, the Forres players were all still presumably drunk/hungover. Pretty sure Forres were at home.

I was living in Altrincham in Sept 1989, Man City massacred Utd 5 - 1, the City wins either side were 1982 & 2002 so a City win was a rare thing. It was an incredibly drunken weekend and the pub I was in had an overnight lock-in and stayed drinking all day Sunday (when England still had pubs that shut on a Sunday afternoon - someone had managed to get a VHS tape of the game on the Saturday night and it was replayed over and over - pre Sky days) That season United came 13th and City 14th in the league behind Liverpool Aston Villa Spurs Arsenal Chelsea Everton Southampton Wimbledon Notts Forest Norwich QPR Coventry Aston Villa - Liverpool scores were all fairly tight throughout the 80s and only big win I can find is Liverpool 5 -1 back in 1976, Season 76-77 Liverpool retained the league title and won European Cup for 1st time, Villa were 4th in league

Kilbowie's Finest
When St Johnstone won the first division in 1982-83 Clydebank beat them in all 3 games that season. A 1-0 Bankies win at Kilbowie was followed by another 1-0 Bankies win at Muirton Park then a 6-1 Bankies win at Kilbowie with a double from Tommy Coyne and further strikes from Jim Given , Budgie McGhie , Bobby Williamson and Gerry McCabeSaints won the league by 1 point from Hearts who went up with them.
