Then as the story unfolds and the alternatives were explored it became obvious quite quickly that the points per game scenario was the only feasible option. All talk of reconstruction, whether it was temporary or permanent, would have been madness. So yes, it was very unfortunate and even unfair but it was the least worst option. What made it hilarious was the very public and sustained meltdown from all directly involved. Stranraer were, in fairness, reasonably dignified. Thistle and Hearts were simply embarrassing. Not all of their supporters were though - just some of them.
Ludo*1
I feel out of everyone, we suffered the most long term because without fail, whenever Dundee put something on Twitter or a debate breaks out online, a Rangers fan comes chundering in with a joke about 'e-mail systems'. Good bants from Nelms at the time though and good how angry it got people. Cheered up a dull time during Covid. Quite sad to see Brian Graham saying it still fuelled him to this day in a game against us earlier last season and before they bottled it against County though. Some impact it's had.

topcat(The most tip top)
Hopefully we never have to worry about anything like it again but one thing the SPFL should probably do is write some rules about how much of an incomplete season needs to be played before the result can stand The precise number isn’t that important but it would be better than making up the rules on the fly again

Budge's posturing really was ridiculous. It confirmed that she genuinely does not have a clue about the sport she has a voice in. One of her arguments was that relegation was unfair because Hearts had invested heavily in their team. She literally thought it correct that this factor override the one about wins, losses and points accrued. It fed into a narrative that said the decision was somehow reached via an absurd, unfathomable formula, carefully designed to punish specific clubs. I remember a BBC preview of the following season saying that Thistle had been relegated for reasons other than footballing ones. As I said, Thistle were unfortunate in that the calculation saw them bottom by a tiny margin. The calculation itself, however, made perfect sense, and was surely the only one that could be considered if a way of concluding the season was needed. The desperate scrambles for an unnecessary reconstruction were ludicrous, and thoroughly humiliating for those doing the scrambling.

It was amateur back then but If they still don’t have a written provision in place for an extreme event such as that then they really are ridiculous.

Like the football league one of the same two will win it every year, but there's strong competition for the euro places.

Logically there must be a number and precedent is set that the number must be between 1 and 30 The strongest remaining candidates would be 22 (once everybody's played each other home and away) or 19 (at least half the season is complete)

In the event of an incomplete season teams will be relegated taking into consideration; Buttons on collars. Bad goalkeeper shirts. Or any other reason the Governing body see fit.
