RossDee01
Squid Game was unreal although a bit pissed off with the ending. Feel like they crammed too much in to one episode and probably could have made it into 2.

gav-ffc
Binged the first 5 episodes of Squid games last night and hopefully finish the rest today/tomorrow but been great so far, really didn’t think I could get into it with it being Dubbed over as anything out of sync gets on my tits but after a while didn’t even notice.

IrishBhoy
Thought the last couple of episodes of Squid Game were lacking a bit of imagination imo, although I still enjoyed it. Spoiler There was never any real feeling that any of the final 3 were going to die at any point, at the same time as the minor characters dropped one by one. It was sign posted during the glass bridge game, and you could have wrote the script on what was going to happen half way through it. There’s only so many times someone escaping death at the last second becomes surprising. It was still an enjoyable watch but I don’t know if I would be too bothered if there wasnt a second season tbh. I think some of the threads were left hanging intentionally for that reason though. The police man who was The Hosts brother wasn’t shown dying on screen, and we never got to know how The Host went from being a previous winner to where he is now. There was also no reason given as to how the guards were chosen and assigned their roles, and the VIP who was left unconscious was never mentioned after that scene. In fact it was a bit strange that the other VIPs didn’t bring that up in the final episode, I would have thought a rogue waiter that had infiltrated their remote island and attacked one of them would have had them more worried than they seemed to be. scottsdad
In the minority here. Made it 15 minutes into Squid Game before turning it off. Thought it was shite.

19QOS19
In the minority here. Made it 15 minutes into Squid Game before turning it off. Thought it was shite.15 minutes is absolutely no time at all to give an 8 hour long show. The first 15 minutes of some of my favourite films aren't even that interesting. Just finished it there and enjoyed it. It's not 'One of the best things I've watched in years' material but it was excellent nonetheless.**SPOILERS BELOW**The second episode was a bit of a drag for me. The whole point of it was to show how shite their lives were outside and why they decided to go back in but I think they could have done it a lot quicker. Given there was a half hour episode later on I think they should have allocated that slot to this episode. Strangely enough I had a feeling No 1 wasn't killed. I didn't think he was the head guy but I did think he was some kind of mole. I didn't have any problem with the ending tbh. I thought it rounded everything important off and left it hanging for a potential S2. For those who didn't like the ending - what didn't you like/what were you hoping for?

Literally the only thing that disappointed me as I said before..... The first game with the big robot and the fancy cameras etc... That was some future hell shit. I really wish the subsequent games were a bit more imaginatively horrifying than guys capping them with revolvers once a mistake was made. They had free reign here, and aside from the glass bridge, the games themselves were totally underwhelming.

They were all childhood games which gave them a real chance of survival - though I can't for the life of me think what childhood game the bridge was [emoji38] I can understand that criticism but for me I thought the show was more focussed on the moral/decision side of the games rather than using them just for the gore. Marbles was arguably the most boring game aside from the squid game but it was a fantastic episode (probably the best one for me tbh) and showed our protagonist having to make some very big decisions about whether he wanted to live or die. The game itself didn't really matter but it never took anything away from the episode.

Really enjoyed it, just thought the games could have been more.... Imaginative for want of a better word. I don't think the storyline would have suffered from a little more razzle dazzle.......
Mr. Brightside
Marbles was the most boring game yet the most harrowing episode.

I though it was excellent and I'm one of those neanderthals who usually hate anything in foreign languages. The last game was a wee bit weak but they had to finish with the squid game so they had little to play with. The overall ending, game apart, was pretty good I thought in that it tried to tie a few loose ends together and left the option of having a follow-up or not completely open. There was a huge clue early on as to the real identity of player 001 - when the policeman was looking through the player profile book it started at player 002.

19QOS19
Dave Chapelle's new special on Netflix is tremendous; highly recommend. Going to give Chapelle a watch tonightThe guys cracks me up but I didn't think that was his best comedy wise. It certainly wrapped everything up nicely. Without spoilers, I thought the ending was both shocking and very sad. Ironic that these overly aggressive folk in that minority are so angry that they even turn on one of their own which arguably played a part in causing the poor woman to make the decision she did. Absolute worstcunts.

I would agree with your thought. I just really enjoyed the whole series and even don't want to criticize. I am one of those who wants to forget it and watch again.

The Daphne story is heart wrenching.
19QOS19
Yeah, possibly not the best comedy wise but for sheer spoken truth I thought it was up there. The Daphne story is heart wrenching. Definitely. If you can be bothered, go to about 55 minutes in when he's joking about trans folk and there are two fat women near the front with their faces absolutely tripping them while the crowd are going wild. Clearly two of the folk who he was referencing in regards to Twitter. Two things popped into my head watching them; have you just got a ticket to his show by chance and have no idea what kind of comedy he does? And, it must be awful not to have a sense of humour. I'll say another thing about him that I noticed, particularly in this special. He doesn't half have a crowd hanging on his every word. I don't watch too many American comedians as they are so OTT and I feel like they never shut the f**k up. There's too much standing up and shouting for my liking. But he had some pretty long pauses in that show and there wasn't a peep. Pretty impressive stuff. -
