WeAreElgin
Sounds like some result tonight. When was the last time we won a game on penalties?
Super Elgin City
What a result that is tonight. With a weakened team aswell. Put it along with by all accounts a good performance on Saturday it's a very promising start. Hopefully build on it at BB on Saturday [emoji834][emoji833][emoji834][emoji833]

As a SPFL/SFL side, never. We didn't even have our first penalty shootout until last season against Arbroath, which we lost. RossBFaeDundee
Earned every bit of your 2 points tonight, well done lads.

I remember we got within a couple of minutes at home against Ayr Utd a few years ago before big Paul Millar smashed one in. First time for everything!
Briggsy's Ghost
Don’t really read a great deal into these early cup results cause every team is finding their feet but 2 good performances against championship teams can only be a positive. Saturday will probably give more perspective but very hopeful for the season given our signings and players to come back in!
Super Elgin City
Very promising result and performance at BB today. Shane Sutherland as we had hoped would be the case is a totally different player than he was before he left. His partnership with Hester is already looking very good. Defence and goalkeeper look solid and the midfield even without Soapy look much better than last season. It will take some goal to better Hester's strike as best goal we see at BB this season[emoji122][emoji834][emoji833]
Jacksgranda
I'm feeling fairly optimistic about City's prospects for this season. Hope I haven't jinxed things...
afca32
We need a winger or two (preferably one of whom can play up front) and a back up goalie. I'd imagine we'll bring a few loanees in. Decent start, need to keep it up.
Highland ITFC
Definitely another encouraging performance, especially given that Cameron, Omar & McHardy were all sitting in the stand, so good to see a bit of depth of quality in the squad with those that are coming in doing a good job. The standard is being set from the front, with Kane & Shane working really hard on the pressing, & that again paying dividends yesterday, & loads of energy & bite in the middle of the park with Dingwall & MacEwan, & the backline seemed determined to make sure that they kept a clean sheet. McHale looking really solid & reliable. Winger-wise, O'Keefe looked like he needed more time to get back up to speed after his injury niggle, & Cooper tidy on the ball, but not a winger. As said before, would like to see Sopel given his chance there, but suspect Omar will come back in on Friday. Looking at Stirling, they looked an ordinary side on yesterday's showing. A backline that didn't inspire confidence, workmanlike midfield with little creativity, & a toothless frontline, & definitely think that Elgin fans can take confidence from them as fellow DIV2 benchmark.

I think you will find that a number of those who started for Stirling yesterday will not be in the starting X1 come the start of the League season, KR seems to be giving everybody in the squad a chance to play. We made 8 changes to the team that started against Arbroath, clearly with so many changes it takes players time to settle and by the time they did we were 2-0 down. Its going to be a tough season ahead so don't count your Chickens yet, you may or may not get into the playoffs, time will tell on that.

So are you thinking that it will be more of the side that conceded six against Arbroath that will be in the side again come the first League game?

The result against Arbroath was a bit of a freak result if you had seen the match and saw some of the chances we had in the game and if we had taken them then the game might have turned out differently. At 3-1 down we had a glorious chance to pull it back to 3-2 but the ref decided the ball did not cross the line. We then got hit with 3 sucker punches late on in the game to put a false score line on the result. Hopefully we don't defend as badly we did that night when the League season starts, if we do then god knows where we will finish in the League this season. As I said this will be a difficult league this season and whilst we have had 2 bad defeats when the REAL action starts on the 3rd of August hopefully we see a different team than the one the lost the last 2 games. Time will tell if either team makes it to the playoffs this season.

You had chances but we had more chances we could've scored from too..Good to see Hester doing well, any highlights that will show his goal?

Super Elgin City
Was down picking up tickets for tomorrow night's game last night. They were saying there was 2000 odd tickets sold at that point and they were out the door dealing with requests still. If we get anywhere near to 3000 in there and with the reported £14k for the game being on BT Sport's it's a great night for the club.If we somehow managed to get a win it would be Dreamland[emoji834][emoji833]
