Guessing it will be padded out later with a statement from the manager explaining that he spoke to St Johnstone and realised Ayr have more ambition, or something along those lines

The only statement I was expecting was one of to assure the fans that he's staying but I'm delighted to see he and Whittaker have signed new deals.

Excellent piece of news, I think Broony is committed to seeing this project through with the ultimate goal of promotion. Both him & Whittaker signing new deals increases the buyout clause of other clubs fishing around them. He was never going to St Johnstone regardless of all the rumours, the only 2 jobs that would interest him in Scotland are Celtic & Hibs
