Due to ongoing issues at Merksworth Park, Dalry Thistle will play their League Match against Ardrossan Winton Rovers scheduled for Monday 7th May at Winton Park, Ardrossan with a 7pm kick off.

They will play Muirkirk Juniors in the League  on Wednesday 9th May at the Show Park, Kilwinning Sports Club with a 7pm kick off.

They will play Annbank United in the League on Saturday 12th May also at Kilwinning Sports Club at 2pm.

There is the possibility that their away  league game for Saturday 5th May against Annbank United will also played at Kilwinning Sports Club if the work at New Pebble Park has not been completed.

How last-minute is this decision going to be left until? - it's already Friday teatime !

I have major sympathy for Dalry but this park issue has been going on for almost 10 years.

It’s frustrating for teams who just want to play, probably none more than Dalry themselves.

Ian Cashmore always very frustrated about the lack of games on when posting on facebook.  Nothing worse than getting ready for a game only for it to be called off.

From memory the issue was with a water main running water into the soil at the petrol station (now Lidl) side of the park.  When I lived in Dalry and went to games the word was always that the council and/or Scottish Water couldn't actually decide who the water main belonged to.   However a lot of park issues are blamed on councils when reality is that the club can't afford to or don't want to fix it.  Not saying that is the case with Dalry the consistent story is that its the lack of ownership from other parties.

I certainly think that it’s time the club took the bull by the horns and did something about it.

you can’t go on like this every season...

obviously got a good team just now and probably going to win league but you can’t build on that when every time it rains your home games are off. Players will leave and it will be difficult to attract quality players to the club!

Having seen Dalry last Saturday, playing on the Show Parks and away from Merksworth will work in their favour,

At Kilwinning Sports Centre, there is 3 to 4 pitches used by youths & amateurs, 1 Astro, And two pitches that’s maintained to a senior level, they are known as the Show Parks which host cup finals etc

You can do what you want this season when you have a park that is unplayable for most of the season.
At this rate we will be soon be playing on school pitches.

Dalry's last two Home fixtures (unless they win the Division and have Evening Times duty) have now been set - Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th May. Anybody know if those will also be at the Kilwinning Sports Centre?

These two have also now been edited to show as at Kilwinning Sports Club, on the West Region website's fixtures page.

Not sure what the setup is in terms of paying to get into the sports club (it’s a public park around the show parks so why would you) but it’s a real income loser for Dalry.

Don’t think they are worried about that they just want the games on.

In terms of the showparks the 1st is fairly closed off tbf and is a decent setup down one side. Though not ideal
