He'll get more money in 6 months at FGR than probably 3 seasons at Forfar.

Money talks, bullshit walks.

The whole idea in the country now that almost every older experienced manager is a football dinosaur and also this revisionist attitude towards every manager who doesn't have complete success everywhere is getting laughable, imagine trying to say Jim McInally is bad manager 🤦‍♂️I know it's easy to compare but it's very rare to get someone like a dick Campbell or Stewart Petrie who can build a club for years and even they've been levelling out recently.

I'll play devil's advocate here, what would you say he's done that makes him a good manager?

Two things, one being he's won 3 league titles the other being when he was at east Stirling who had been finishing bottom of Scottish football for 5 out of 6 years only year they didn't was because of us, he got them finishing 3rd twice in a row and the first time they did was the first time they'd finished higher than 4th for almost 30 years.

It should be noted he had a huge budget at Shire that had never been seen in all the years of finishing bottom. Comparing apples and oranges there.

It's a budget that should have achieved promotion in all honesty.

It's a bit rich to say other fans have a revisionist attitude and then come out with this. Neilly is spot on.

Morton: big budget, achieved what was expected at second time of asking, then bolted when they were 9th in the championship. He left, Morton survived.

Peterhead: massive budgets, and Rory MacAllister. Pumped 7-2 by Gary Bollans Forfar in a play off final. Relegated as often as he was promoted.

A big difference to people always looking at the negatives than people trying to look at positives, there's nothing to gain from pointing out all the negatives to every manager name that's discussed before anyone's even in a job.

We’re gonna end up with Stevie Fallon taking over as manager anyway.

so this talk about mcinally is all pointless.

either way it’ll be a backwards step from the club.

If that's the case then we just have to hope Stevie Fallon is going to massively over-achieve! 😂

Yeah, not too enamoured my McInally. Bottled things at Morton and although Peterhead were steady in League One for a lot of his time, the budget he had was a very good one. Don't think he'd be terrible, just very meh. That being said, I'm not sure who's out there that isn't meh.

Yeah, Spencer Fearn chucked money at The Shire and best they got was a playoff semi final skelping from us, they signed a lot of players who'd been decent players in the league above

Wasn't a skelping. We were hanging on against them after going 2-0 up and got a late winner, a Stephen Tulloch header if I mind right. That Shire team played some decent football whenever I seen them.

I think he'd be a solid appointment and a good fit for the club.
