Seventies Man Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 KELLO ROVERS F.C. 0 CAMBUSLANG RANGERS 3 1. Nothing at all to be ashamed of today. We were beaten by a side who were just half a size too big for us due to their vastly superior resources. 2. Cambuslang deserved to win but we could have won. Like most games if we were able to flip a couple of incidents then it may have been different. When the game was 0-0 Ramage smacked a tremendous free kick kick off the Cambuslang crossbar (well, it’s actually the Rovers crossbar but you know what I mean I am sure) and the ball came down on the line but, sadly, not over it. No Russian linesman in position. Just minutes later Fleming cleverly wriggled his way through to a ‘one-on-one’ with the Cambuslang ‘keeper but just could not finish. I was at the opposite end of the park and it may have been that the ball bobbled as he was about to shoot. That said, Dunsie had two magnificent saves which actually drew praise from the Cambuslang players. I don’t think there will be a better goalkeeper in our league than Dunsie. 3. 0-0 at half time but within minutes Cambuslang took the lead and you always felt we needed to score first if we were to take something from the game. Clearly, two further goals followed from Cambuslang but the Rovers did make some chances in the second half and had their share of possession. 4. What an excellent attendance today and it was good as it always is to see a good wee, vocal support down with Cambuslang though some of them were a bit cheeky – especially the big boy with the Donald Trump blonde wig and the knock-out T shirt. But the banter was good and that is the difference between Junior football and Senior football. 5. Next week we end our magnificent campaign at home to Larkhall Thistle. Tell you auntie, your uncle, your brother, your sister and your second cousin twice removed to get themselves along to Nithside Park to applaud the players and the staff for their tremendous efforts this season and let’s all shout the boys on to win their final game. If you’re not there then you had better have a doctor’s line to produce if asked to do so. 6. Kello Rovers v Larkhall Thistle – next Saturday – see you there!
Glenconner Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Vocal support at Cambuslang??? Must be a new thing.
jimbaxters Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Hope they said nice things about your park. Swanning down to Kirkconnel boasting about their amenities no doubt!
Seventies Man Posted May 14, 2018 Author Posted May 14, 2018 Actually, they didn't mention their amenities or our park. They said they were traumatised having driven through Auchinleck on the way down. Said it was like a Third World country. We showed them a different route to take on the way home. They were very grateful.

They were very grateful. There's no need for that!
