Just watched the first episode of this on BBC iplayer. Like Dragons Den but with scran. The boy from ShrimpWreck seems to be doing ok when I googled him after wathcing this. Would love to go and tackle one of his shrimp burgers looked class!

The two young lassies on the first episode were pretty amazing too considering their ages. The chef lassie in particular had some mega skill for one so young.

I found the economics of this interesting, possibly unrealistic. The chef was prepared to invest up to £1 million in the two girls. As it's for television presumably the terms were more generous that from a bank but he won't be doing this as an act of charity. I have a worrying feeling the two girls might be slaving over a hot stove for many years to pay this back.

I agree with this. If you use the Dragons Den comparison, how tight those guys are with their money. Have they EVER shelled out a million? And they tend to be dealing with already mildly successful businesses rather than the incredibly volatile restaurant game. Will take it at face value though its decent TV

Quite enjoyed this too, though I found myself quite distracted by Lydia Forte's likeness both in mannerisms and physically to Alex Polizzi.

Not unsurprising since they are related.

In terms of the investment I'm guessing that's the cost of leasing a property, fitting it out appropriately, menu development, pre-opening training and all the other costs associated with a start up.

Probably includes Atul Kochhar's time and that of his team along with a period to establish the business where costs will be higher (wastage due to maintaining stocks for the menu).

Just started watching this and find it quite interesting. If the Cuban restaurant gets its cocktails sorted out it could be a goer. Could not see the 2 females going into the Forte empire - they would not really have been independant.  Hope they make a follow up of where they are in a few yers.
