Scotland v USA (at life)

Recommended Posts

You knw what actually annoys me about America, everyone's so fkn nice. At first you're like aww this is great everyone is so friendly, after a few days you're like just shut the f**k up and give me my chewing gum or I'll haul you across that counter and fkn chin you.

As for divisive, jingoistic, tub-thumping, fleg-waving politics?  That's a big problem and is what keeps me back from moving home to Scotland.

Lets be honest about it bud. Your clubs dead, you have no reason to come back here.

This is cheap posting, though.  I've been to the US hunners of times and never once saw a good guy with a gun - apart from the NYPD blokes who, obviously, had holstered guns on my first visit in 1982.
I've been to, so far, 19 states.  I know that many P&Bers have been to more.  My trips have ranged from 8 weeks in 1982 to an overnight in NYC for an interview.  I have enjoyed every trip I've made from catching Marlin off the coast of FL to cycling down a volcano in Maui to trying to teach High School Football players how to play Rugby.  As a visitor I haven't a bad word to say about the place.

Vermin like the Orange Order are enough to put anyone off tbh.

I spent about eight months living in a small college town in Michigan in 2012, another four months in Philadelphia and the Midwest a couple of years ago and manged to travel a fair amount of the rest of the country as well (but not the South because it's a bin).

There are many places I'd like to visit again, but until most of the country gets a credible public transport I'll pass; it's truly a decrepit, Second World state outside of the metro areas. I could live in cities like Philadelphia or Minneapolis with few complaints though.

Some friends from work are going to England and Scotland next week for a holiday. They should get the Scotland on Saturday-

I hope they don't mind spending their entire time indoors.

Are your friends Mogwai?

Why? Is there a law against going outside when it's raining?

how's the Scottish space programme coming along - I know that Montgomery Christopher Jorgensen was integral to the smooth running of the Enterprise, but other than that ?
and I don't think that PC World in Strathkelvin Retail Park is too much of a threat to Silicon Valley, either

But how does it relate to Irn-Bru?

Quote

Walkinshaw’s company could launch a satellite for the first time as early as next year, but he was cagey about the details. The official launch of the satellite, Unicorn-1, which is “the size of a can of Irn-Bru”, is scheduled for late 2018. But they are already developing Unicorn-2, which is slightly bigger, “the size of a bottle of Irn-Bru”, according to Walkinshaw.

Got it.

As Billy Connolly once quipped:

”ITS SCOTLAND. OF COURSE ITS FUCKING RAINING”

A bit like going to the Sahara dessert and being surprised that it’s hot and dry.

I went to school with a guy who’s family all moved to Naples, Fl about 15 years ago.

I recently got added by the guy on Facebook.

He is now an absolute red neck, homophobic, racist piece of shit Trump supporter.

You should ask him what he thinks about the Northern League wanting to keep their money to themselves and f**k the South. He's probably voted the c***s into power the stupid, ignorant c**t. It's almost as ignorant as the Welsh and Cornish voting for Brexit.

I think this guy is in America rather than Italy.
