I was there briefly. The only thing I remember was rude shopkeepers and a giant German skinhead who wanted a fight, thinking I was an English soldier. A Marlboro cigarette and convincing him I was a Scottish weakling civilian satisfied him. Sure I missed the good bits.

Mrs AFJ and I did the Christmas markets there last year. A brilliant city and the Nazi Documentation Centre is a must - one of the best museums I have ever visited. The rally site is chilling too, (and I don't mean laid back, beer in hand and the baws out type chilling).  Some great architecture around the city, impressive walls and cathedral and lots to see and do. I took in the Greuther Furth game (Furth is a suburb of Nurnberg and the metro is superb) and it was a good day out, although it was utterly Baltic. PM me if you want to know any more. We flew to Munich and got a Bayer card which covers all of Bavaria and is a very cheap way to get around.

Pretty much the above. The documentation centre and rally site are excellent and puts a lot in perspective.

If the Christmas market is on when you are over, it's very good. As standard for everywhere in Bayern the beer halls are excellent and good value for food.

The castle is worth a walk around.

If you have the chance to travel further afield Regensburg is also worth the visit as well.

I quite enjoyed it, even though I can't say Germany was my favourite tourist destination.  I don't remember too much about it, other than they were using the long avenues where they used to hold the rallies to safety test Mercedes Benz cars.  That was fairly interesting.  And the castle was an enjoyable visit.
