underdogunderdog underdog
Gave the Fontaines DC effort a go based on this thread. It's a grower, for sure. Aldous Harding has a new album out today, so that'll be given a spin over the weekend. Australia and New Zealand seem to be knocking it out off the park as far as "new" music goes - seems to be most of the things I'm listening to recently are of the Antipodean variety.I've found that myself too. Listen mostly to DMA's, Pond, Tame Impala and Gang of Youths. I've heard Middle Kids are good too.
Ira Gaines
Gang of Youths are probably one of my favourite finds of the last couple of years. Listened to them because they were playing The Killers' day at TRNSMT and was sold right off the bat.

JamieStevenson
1. Rival Sons - Feral Roots 2. Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride 3. Anderson Paak - Ventura 4. Maggie Rogers - Heard It in a Past Life 5. Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next 6. Rob Thomas - Chip Tooth Smile 7. Bring Me The Horizon - amo 8. The Twilight Sad - It Won/t Be Like This All the Time 9. Pink - Hurts 2B Human 10. Marina - Love + Fear I had neglected my list but now I'm back and yes I have been listening to a number of albums. Nothing has really blown me away so far this year. I'm certain my top 3 will be on the list at the end. As for the others, good albums but could easily find themselves punted.
Savage Henry
Mourning A Blkstar's album Reckoning is flat out ridiculous. Bits of Al Green, Mavis Staples, Massive Attack, the Band... one of the few genuinely exciting albums I've heard this year.
50/50 Winner
Currently enjoying the Slowthai album.
ArabGaz
Really not sure what to make of the National’s latest effort yet. I do love them & generally I do find that their albums take a good few listens before I get into them but I think this one could be a bit more challenging.
GrahamJags
The new Justin Townes Earle record is very good indeed.

Savage Henry
Not an album but I'm really enjoying this: I really liked that, but the continuity issues with the star on her cheek really effing annoyed me.

Savage Henry
I like it but it's not going to change your life.I can’t believe she didn’t put Come Home on the album. It’s by a mile her strongest song.
Ex Machina
Dude Trips put out their debut album a few days ago and it's probably my album of the year so far.
Christophe
Recent good listens: Can conform the new National is a grower, @ArabGaz, after not being initially impressed. The Viagra Boys record has been getting lots of spins, crap name, good album. A bit Parquet Courts in feel, with a few more jams and added saxampahone. Enjoyable! The 'Chernobyl' record is good, not the "music from" which is also available, but the original score LP by Hildur Gudnadottir. Richard Skelton's 'Border Ballads' is a really good noise record, very similar to the 'Chernobyl' score in tone and pace actually. Heather Woods Broderick's Invitation. Quite reminiscent of Julia Holter's more "song based" pieces Faye Webster's 'Atlanta Millionaire's Club' is fantastic, probably my new favourite thing atm, been dipping into her back catalogue too and it's all great stuff. Downtempo loungey shiz with elements of alt country and stuff thrown in, genre transcending. It was too hot today for the new Bill Callahan, need to wait on another grey miserable afternoon to properly digest that one! FBadgers
Some favs of mine this year include Anderson.Paak - Ventura, Jade Bird, Idlewild - Interview Music ( didn't no they were bringing an album out and overall a pleasant surprise) and Joanne Shaw Taylors new album,. Weezer Black album was average, and while I loved Deutschland, I found the new Rammstein underwhelming.....not a sentence my 18 year old self could ever imagine typing. Lewis Capaldi I also checked out and it was boring and dull and just all round crap.
