Blackie Gold
Is gogsy no the same tosser who came onto the Juniors thread and ridiculed a club who just had their ground vandalised. If it is then he's a 100% total fanny. As for the game we better get some practice in at Cumnock so we can get used to a council subsidised establishment.
Bundesliga Boy
Think you can make an argument that 4 of the very best meet up in the 1st round. Fraserburgh v Bonnyrigg looks an outstanding tie, with the TV game almost certain to be Kelty v Auchinleck, and justifiably so. Personally I can't see anything other than a Kelty win as Nathan Austin alone is leagues above this level and will prove to be the difference. If it's a Fri night clash I look forward to taking it in. But just wanted to look at the draw from a different perspective. Following ties may not have the biggest of fanbases or be the most successful but Dalbeattie v Gala could be a right tasty affair plus the very much unfancied Fort William and Vale of Leithen meet in what could be a cracker at Claggan Park. Sadly my better half is 35 that weekend but I'm thinking a Scottish Cup Fri/Sat double header is totally acceptable as it's not exactly a big birthday, right?
cmontheloknow
Fort will win against VoL IMO. They are both clearly out of their depth in respective leagues but Fort's ICT boys - if allowed to play - have strengthened them this year.
bravehearts dad
The Fraserburgh - Bonnyrigg Rose match is certainly attractive. Highland League leaders versus Lowland League leaders. Friday night tele of Saturday afternoon doesn’t matter I’ll be there giving my proper support. C’mon The Rose
welshbairn
Bit boring for half the Highland League teams where it's just another local fixture. Not sure what they could do to avoid it, splitting the draw geographically would no doubt get somebody screaming.

If you get all the non-league teams in at Round 1 and scrap the Prelims, gives the chance of more variety. If there are more licenced clubs next season, and there will probably be around half-a-dozen, then they'll need to make changes anyway. If even a couple of unused qualifier spots had been used you couldn't use the current format.

SEETHING. Was torrential this morning here in #perthshire but it's been a glorious afternoon. I wonder if the pitch might have made it if given a chance. Och well. With no Saints game this weekend there should be a large crowd at the rearranged game. Hopefully a few fans who could not have gone last week will come along and support the Swifts.

Burnie_man
So Colville Park have apparently folded, maybe time to re-assess letting Amateur clubs into the competition. £3k saved by the SFA. -
GNU_Linux
So Colville Park have apparently folded, maybe time to re-assess letting Amateur clubs into the competition. £3k saved by the SFA.Tbf Coville was an exceptional case of the club losing much of its squad & their manager moving onto Darvel. Said manager & a core squad had been at the club for the duration of their sucess (several league titles & amateur cups). Amateur clubs are more volatile vs semi-pro clubs in that when a manger goes a good bulk of the squad oft goes as well either following wherever the manager goes or going elsewhere.

However, they've proven themselves to be quite competitive in the competition. You've had the likes of Burntisland, East Kilbride, Cumbernauld Colts, Edusport/Caledonian Braves joining pyramid leagues with amateur roots. Amateur Cup winners having entry and doing alright could see the next club make the step into the senior pyramid.

None of those clubs have shown signs of ever wanting to join the Pyramid, and now Colville Park have folded. "Shamateurism" is rife and it doesn't seem right that the SFA are shoving prizemoney the way of Amateur clubs who's players aren't all playing for the love of the game. Those Colvile Park players were not playing for expenses.

If we are talking about a true, blue sky thinking pyramid it has to at some point include those teams from the amature world. We are no doubt a hell of a long way from that utopia but Scottish cup entry for one ammy team is a good thing in my mind.

I don't think admitting the Amateur Cup winners was a positive move, just takes money out of the game and no doubt finds its way into pockets of whoever. It's a slap in the face to those clubs trying to do the right thing and get Licenced, at considerable expense. Maybe the cup should just be Licenced clubs only, we're probably moving towards that anyway.
