Must be a labour of love for somebody. A daunting prospect visiting that lot... Iceland is a huge country and I've only been to 3 games/grounds. A very expensive place and loads of driving, especially if you're with wife or family who are not motivated in the same way The beauty of the Faroes is you can probably see a game at every ground in 3 or 4 visits, as the games are on all day at the weekend. Or if you're a real saddo, you can visit them all and take photos in 1 single trip of a few days. Anyhoo... I've still got loads of photos. Here's the old and new stadiums in Eiði. The new one, Hólmanum á Eiði, has had a stand built since I was there. The old one, á Mølini, was an iconic place, but now it's a caravan park. So I had to pinch an extra photo off the internet. Che Dail
Great photos and narrative - perfect for a Sunday morning lie-in! Thanks for sharing... It reminded me of 'Posts' by Neville Gabie - have you seen it? If not, you would like, think I got it in Fopp about 15 years ago. I've taken many a football stadium detour on holiday - have seen and taken photos of loads in the Nordic region... never been to the Faroes though, would love to go!
The Mantis
Well given that the 2020 season of the Betri Deild should have started did start today here's a pic of Uppi á Brekku in Leirvík. Last time I looked everything was in lockdown but Matchday 1 got underway today. Here are some real football scores: 9/5/20: NSÍ 3 TB 1 HB 1 EB/Streymur 0 Skála 1 ÍF 2 Kí 1 B36 2 AB 0 Víkingur 0.
The Mantis
Running out of Faroes images now but here's one of Á Skørinum in Hvalba on the island of Suðuroy where FC Royn play in tier 3. They are back playing as Royn after a merger of all the teams in Suðuroy didn't work out. The coach of the merged team was Maurice Ross. Here's one I nicked off Wiki. Totally failed to notice when I was there but it's actually a grass pitch!
