Brig O'Lea
The club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former coach and manager of Neilston Juniors, Alex Gourlay. Alex spent many years at Brig O'Lea both as an assistant manager to Brian Stevenson and as manager in his own right. He was our assistant manager when we defeated Baillieston 5-0 in the 1998 Sectional League Cup Final at Fir Park. As manager of the team, we lost out on the first ever Super Premier League championship title on goal difference to Pollok in 2002/03. Alex also had spells as manager of both East Kilbride Thistle and Saltcoats Victoria. There will be a minute's silence observed before tomorrow's Hugh Blair Trophy match against Auchinleck Talbot at Brig O'Lea. RIP Alex.
