William Hill Scottish Cup 2019/2020

Recommended Posts

Auchinleck v Ayr in the 3rd round last year was live on a Saturday lunchtime. I know that the new BBC Scotland channel hadn't started then but I think the first two rounds are on the new channel with subsequent rounds on the main station.

Talbot V Ayr was the 4th round. This round's TV game will be a Friday night. It will not be Talbot V Arbroath

BBC have added a new TV tie every round from R1 to QFs to show on Friday nights on their new BBC Scotland channel... on other weekends they show Championship games (or Tunnock's Challenge Cup ties on BBC Alba on international weekends).

For the pedants - technically they could show a Championship game on QF weekend, there's a card of matches that day, but seriously doubt they'll favour that over Scottish Cup QF.

Probably bit I’d prefer Morton-Brora or Rose-Montrose

Bonnyrigg v Montrose (and Fort William v Airdrie if progressed) lesser contenders. Don't see much romance in Morton-Brora, although for Brora it would be the most epic all-nighter ever...

It's £3k now in the Prelims and £4k in round 1, think its then £6k round 2.  It was detailed on here a wee while back but can't remember exactly, but If you play the first 2 Prelims and round one, you defo pocket £10k.  If you make Round 3 I think you'll pocket circa £25-£30k.  Live TV money for the first 3 rounds is £2-3k for each team.

From thread on FitbaNorth. Wouldn't swear to them precisely as they aren't from a single file but I think it's accurate or very close and it matches what's been posted.

TV in R1-R3 bit tardy IMO.

Prizemoney

PR1 - £3,000
PR2 - £3,000
R1 - £4,000
R2 - £5,000
R3 - £6,000

TV Money

R1 - £2,000
R2 - £3,000
R3 - £5,000

R4 - £32,500
R5 - £32,500
R6 - £32,500
SFs & Final - £480,000 split among participants (implies £80,000 per club per game)

Early rounds were increased by £1k in case of PR1 to R2... actually by £2k in case of R1... but it is a bit more complicated (and less generous) than that - as 'top-up' fees of a few hundred £ each for Youtube highlights, radio inserts etc. had previously been scrapped. Then again before that deductions for yellow or red cards were abandoned.

Until a few years ago TV ties got £82.5k.
