I remember back in the 80's, we were flying and St J were piss poor, bottom of the league with hardly a win to their name, then rocked up at Love Street and won 2-1. 28th October is already giving me the fear.

We have played 4 of last seasons top 5 though. Think its built up due to 4/5 massive stops already. Think about 4 one on ones then Celtic missing chances from close range too. 1 hour ago, Loki said: Apart from Ross County who do it every season. Seven points already is going against the script. 14/15 is the only time youve had an opening 6 games worse than us. If we lose against Livingston then away to Aberdeen then even that team would've started better than this one.

If you ignore the 10pt deduction Gretna got that gave them 13pts.. We only had 18 points in 05/06. I think that's the lowest.

djchapsticks
Interesting stat reading yesterday that it took us 28 games in 2018/19 season under Stubbs and Kearney to reach the 14 point mark that we're on just now after 6. Incredible with 14 points in first 28 games that we still stayed up via the playoffs and save for a mental Hamilton run which more or less mirrored us punch for punch, would have done so automatically. St. Johnstone aren't doomed yet, nowhere near it. If one more team decides to go on a long winless run as well, it could be enough to keep you in touch until the window opens again. Shite start of affairs having to think like that already but we've been in that same situation plenty of times.

You've only had 2 worse seasons than ours after 6 games. 13/14 you survived, in a season where Hearts had a 15pt deduction and a youth squad all season and Hibs had their collapse season with Butcher. 14/15 you were relegated. If we lose against Livingston then your 13/14 side had a better record after 7 games.

I mean a shite state having to be begging to get to January already which is terrirtory we are used to being in with mixed results. We're notoriously poor starters down the years.

We wont chuck money at trying to stay up a 3rd time (January of 21/22, Summer of 22) due to losses of last season, so theres little chance we can do anything other than more loan punts.
PauloPerth
2019-20 we had 0 wins in our first nine matches with 4 draws over that period. We finished sixth that season. I’d hope we could be on at least 4 points after the next 3 matches..

Dont make me tap the "Callum Hendrys goals v xG that season is never being matched by anyone in this division ever again" sign... 7 goals from 11 shots on target.

Haha yes! A once in a career run that he’d never repeat.. until he repeated it 2 years later A goalscorer emerging out of our youth team with that kind of impact would be fairly welcome right now.

He didn't match it tbf. We need a McCann and Hendry to appear to match that season probably, but id be happy with just some form of player stepping up to be a catalyst for everything else. A Rooney type who not only comes up with big moments but also has a personality to get the rest of the team going. I dont see anyone in our squad whos like that.

Alert Mongoose
Really struggling to pick this year. The eyes are drawn to Livi but they have been there before and comfortably made it clear. Think St Johnstone might have picked the right manager and have a good 'keeper to help. County the early favourites?
