jagfox
If the government(s) could stop using ‘should’ in their advice and declarations, that would be great. Thank you.

Benjamin_Nevis
Just seen a FB post from an Air B&B host greeting about losing money "because of the devolved administration". You outright own a property worth £250,000. Sit the f**k down.
Granny Danger
Caught the tail end of a bit on 5 Live this morning where an ‘expert’ guest was suggesting the 80% wage subsidy is not universal but would only be available for employees who would otherwise have been made redundant. That wasn’t my interpretation nor do I think it is the wider interpretation of employers.

Silvio Tattiescone
Just spoke to a concrete company, who are listed as a "key" industry so should be staying open, but their entire (Polish) workforce has refused to come in.

Guest bernardblack
Trip out the shops today, most folk behaving themselves and keeping a distance, I couldn't get everything I needed at Lidl but got dingied from Tesco as it was pensoner hour. Not too put out by that, it's a good thing to have arranged. No toilet paper or flour in sight but otherwise mostly well stocked & a calm atmosphere. I wore gloves & was a bit annoyed the checkout lady was just using her bare hands to ring up my shopping as I had to give everything a wipe once I got it home.I’ve stopped going to Lidl during this because of the no gloves. It’s an absolute joke

Not sure about the ethics of gloves as you could just be transferring bugs from one surface to another while protecting yourself. Washing/sanitising your hands frequently might be better from that point of view. Undecided myself.

Silvio Tattiescone
Gloves would make absolutely no difference to a checkout operator - the virus sticks to gloves just as much as it sticks to the skin.
