Inanimate Carbon Rod
You think so? - my mrs is a gp and is working at a test centre in her area, they are only testing people who fall within specific criteria. I appreciate that some structure to testing is a good idea, and I'm not advocating it should be a free for all, but if the UK has 'X' amount of capacity, it should be using it every day.- it isnt a free for all but genuinely has to be done in a controlled manner, theres no point testing someone who the guidelines show wouldnt return a positive test, would be a complete waste of money. There's a centre literally around the corner from me (Grangemouth) and it's painful seeing how quiet it is. There's two security guards outside who must be bored stiff. - look at it this way, isnt it a good thing there isnt that kind of demand, these centres are set up to deal with worst case scenario demand if necessary. My son gets school meals at lunch time so we walk pass the centre about twelvish and the security guards seem to swell to four in number. They're all standing within two feet of each other, never mind two metres.- aye thats no ideal
Owsley
STV News tonight, first of all stating 537 deaths in care homes in the past week, then after coming back from a report, saying the care home deaths have risen from 237 to 537 in the last week. Not the same thing. Really shoddy reporting. The overall total from the care homes seems to be 537.
Herman Hessian
see that story about the couple who took a month to cross the atlantic on their boat, having told all their friends and family not to contact them about any bad news, so they tipped up at their destination and had no idea about the severity of the pandemic; had me wondering what on earth you would do for a month, cooped up with one person in the intimate confines of a yacht - suggestions ? also, fair play to the girl for holding the mainstay or whatever it's called in her teeth whilst driving the thing at the same time...

A bit cheeky for Oor Wullie to be fishing off the edge of their boat.

WhiteRoseKillie
I think in any survey there are people who just don't have a fucking clue about anything. There's people who don't know who the Prime Minister is.There's plenty who don't know what the Prime Minister's job entails. Johnson is only one of them.
AUFC90
Love how all the news channels report English deaths as ""775 dead today " etc but Scottish deaths are reported as "975 now dead in Scotland ". Is this to try and make it sound as bad up here when we're basically nowhere the level of shit down South.

dorlomin
FWIW, there is no cover up. Deaths in hospital are registered quickly and the capacity is on hand to test for Covid. Deaths outside hospitals can take a week to file the paper work and there is no capacity, at the moment, to test all dead. So total deaths lags the Covid hospital deaths by about 2 weeks. This has been discussed before that several people have raised the probability of a rise in non Covid deaths out of hospital due to people failing to go to hospital. Many heart specialists around the world are saying they are seeing a lot less non Covid cases than usual (as an example). Anyone trying to insinuate conspiracies without good evidence and a clear understanding of how the ONS data works are best dismissed. There is a lot of speculation being passed off as fact.
Dundee Hibernian
Something about this health crisis which has me concerned: this topic has reached page 1256 in exactly 3 months. Is it possible, given a bit more time, that it will surpass the Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread at 10203 pages before Sevco go into administration?
