The illness doesn’t give you the shits or excessive runny nose/sneezing so why the mass panic buying of toilet paper? I was hearing on the Jeremy vine show that people were spending £200 on shit tickets alone and nothing else, not even stockpiling tins of baked beans etc.

They think they'll be holed up for weeks and might run out. Obviously you could just wipe your arse with your pants and throw them out the window.

I wonder if social media was as widespread in 2003 would folk have lost their collective minds on quite the same scale as is happening here?

I fully understand being worried and going to extreme precautionary lengths if you are of a weak disposition or have constant access to those who are weak in case you might pass it on.

However, it seems a bit mental that folk who are clearly of fit enough levels to be rolling about supermarket floors fighting over a bit of shite paper are so terrified of what, in all likelihood would amount to a mild-moderate case of the flu.

Same c***s who have those 'Keep Calm and Carry On' posters as well I bet, the fucking morons.

The worry for me is that I have two disabled girls with autism and additional needs who have faecal incontinence, and need nappies and wipes fairly regularly. If folk are panic buying wipes I've genuinely no idea what we're going to do.

Yeah, but am I too late? Until an hour ago I never even entertained the thought that baby wipes might be panic-bought.

If it was me I'd be off to the shops getting what I needed before it sold out.

I know someone who is a carer for an elderly relative who has similar worries.

Probably NSFW story

I remember reading an article about Jon Holmes, the infamously well endowed 1970s porn star. He was involved in a brutal mass murder, the Wonderland killings, which centred around a robbery of Eddie Nash, who was a notorious drug dealer in LA at that time. One of the stories about Nash was that he used to use his status as a drug dealer to degrade drug addicted women, one of his favourite tricks was to keep a few girls who were needing a hit around and after he’d done a shit, he’d get one of them to lick him clean in exchange for some coke or heroin. Clearly a reprehensible person. But, at least he had an alternative should a shortage of toilet paper occurred.

This is the sad reality outcome for your good self because of the fuckin idiot brigade we share an island with.

Selfish c***s, the lot of them, what anyone needs 6 months worth of bog roll for, I don't know?

Like fuckin sheep, they all do the same thing and they don't even know why.

Was in ASDA Irvine the day and the toilet roll section was a bit ropey but nothing major.

Went to see what the hand wash section looked like but couldn't find it. Not a well laid out store at all.

These people see others on the internet doing it and think they need to do it as well. Beyond pathetic.

Surely there's loads of things you'd run out of before toilet roll? If that, why not almost everything else unperishable?

Laborious maybe but sign up for online shopping wherever you can, even likes of Boots, Waitrose etc. Order them in. Use Amazon.
