Skyline Drifter Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 (edited) I tried it. Couldnt work out how to post a photo here though. Wasnt massively convinced by the shortlist either but I ended up with a 4-4-2 of ------------------McCrorie----------------- Smith --- McCart --- O'Brien --- Harvie Flannigan --- Kelly --- Doran --- Forrest ----------- Shankland --- Clark ------------ Personally not convinced Harvie is any better than Kevin Holt but Holt wasnt available. I might also have had El Bakhtaoui at least as an option to choose if not ahead of Forrest. He has as many assists as anyone despite leaving in January. Edit - actually, as much as I prefer a 4-4-2, given the dearth of stand out midfielders I probably switch to a 4-3-3 and put Nisbet in over Forrest who was better last season than this one. ------------------McCrorie----------------- Smith --- McCart --- O'Brien --- Harvie ----- Flannigan --- Kelly --- Doran ----- -----Clark --- Shankland --- Nisbet ---- Edited April 27, 2020 by Skyline Drifter 0 Quote

Kelly for us maybe but he’s been very hot and cold. 0 Quote

No Nisbet? Doesn't deserve to be taken seriously, especially since you combine a glaring omission with suggesting El Bakhtoui merits a place. 1 Quote

And no, if its a front two I wouldnt have Nisbet over the Shankland / Clark pairing. I would put him in a three though ie ahead of Dobbie this season. Think what you like about Bakhtaoui. Fact is he directly set up about 7 or 8 goals in half a season (& scored one). If McCrorie makes the short list he should too. The departure of both is why we tumbled down the table after Xmas. Skyline Drifter Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Just now, DA Baracus said: Nisbet has played in a 4-4-2 many times this season. I'm sure he has but I dont consider him part of the best front two if only picking two strikers. 0 Quote

Surely it's which players have had the best seasons, not which are the best players? And Nisbet has, undoubtedly, had a better season than Clark has. 1 Quote
Trogdor Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Shortlist players are a bit dubious. I went for the following, no apologies for my Ayr United bias: 0 Quote

D'Jaffo Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 I'm sure he has but I dont consider him part of the best front two if only picking two strikers. It’s not based on partnerships though. If it was then Moffat and Shankland would’ve both been in it last season. It’s based on the two single best strikers in the league which this season have been Shankland and Nisbet. 2 Quote

I expect that is the majority view, its not mine. I rate Clark very highly, I always have, i dont think Shankland would have scored anywhere near as many if it werent for Clark. A bit like Dobbie fed off Dykes last year. The best forward isnt necessarily the top two scorers. I would have Clark ahead of Nisbet. 0 Quote
RandomGuy. Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Just here to say it annoys the f**k out of me that the Dunfermline badge isnt centralised. 1 Quote

Also Nisbet is a better forward than Clark. 1 Quote
