South fan 2 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 South League null and void. Probably the right verdict. 1 Quote
Eck’s played a blinder Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Sensible decision , far too many games too go for PPG in my opinion. There would’ve been many twists and turns , not all guaranteed wins the front runners would’ve assumed , a fair result 1 Quote

The Licensed Clubs will still take their places , Musselburgh won the East / West Shield to claim that spot and the possible League winning route looked clearly to have been between Threave and Stranraer anyway so effectively making that place irrelevant regardless of the outcome in that particular race ! 0 Quote
Marshmallo Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 I don't understand why you wouldn't come up with an outcome that gives one of your member clubs a chance to move up a level. -8 Quote

Only the winners would have received the place, and it was between Stranraer and Threave; both teams already receive a place in the SC. The only potential negative to it is that Threave (IF they won the league) won't get the opportunity to contest any Play Off for the LL. 0 Quote

You honestly believe they’re any worse than Vale of a Leithen and with a few additions could easily match Dalbeattie Star for me ! Your problem is you appear to simply want to put the South down like this other clown Mallo 1 Quote

weeredbook Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Dalbeattie are a far better team than Threave .Its a jump from SoS to East never mind LL . A few additions ? 6-7 maybe . To get to LL you would need to beat teams like Linlithgow ( who were 10th ) , Camelon Bo'ness Musselburgh Tranent Penicuick Broxburn to name a few . That's not happening Some of the East conference teams are well in front of SoS never mind the Premier East 1 Quote

I reckon the South champion whoever they may be have a better chance of reaching the LL than the teams you've mentioned. At present 2 90 minute games is all it would take. My understanding is that Pollok may have trouble getting a licence. (If I'm wrong, just substitute another unlicensed West club). In that case, no play off is necessary. 0 Quote

Yes you are right as it stands no play off would be necessary if an unlicensed club wins any of the 2 leagues. It's happened between South and East before. From now on I'd imagine it'll become a 3 way play off. It'll add more games to the calendar has anything been confirmed how many games these would be over ? Round robin 2 legs ? -1 Quote

I'm the thinking they might just follow the EoS Conference model of a single round robin so they only have to set aside one week in the calendar. 3 teams = Sat-Wed-Sat 2 teams = Sat-Sat 1 team = automatic promotion If you did a double round robin with 3 teams it's 6 games over 3 saturdays/3 midweeks. 0 Quote
