Ira Gaines
That fifth Victory goal was a stunner. Goalie just like "nah".

Eednud
Saturday games both drawn. Only saw some of the 2nd half of Mariners v Sydney. Mariners could have scored 2 or 3 if they had hit ball harder or away the goalie but in the end lucky to keep Sydney from scoring a third. Best crowd in a while for the Mariners 10,173.
Eednud
Adelaide United would have moved into first position had they won, they didn’t and a last minute penalty sees Phoenix move up to sixth.
GNU_Linux
Riot police called to NPL NSW game Two people are believed to have been stabbed in a fight that erupted after a football match in Sydney. Riot squad police were called to a field on West Botany Street, Rockdale, just after 5pm on Sunday after reports of a brawl involving "spectators, armed with weapons", police said. Two men were found with lacerations to their limbs. They were taken to St George Hospital. A third man was "trampled in the melee" and suffered minor injuries. A crime scene has been established at the field and police said they were continuing to try to identify the people involved. NSW Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance and stocky build and was last seen wearing a black jumper, black shorts, black bucket hat and dark sunglasses. The brawl appears to have taken place after the match between Rockdale Ilinden and Sydney United 58 in the National Premier Leagues NSW Men competition. Footage filmed from the sideline appears to show players earlier involved in a heated clash as people in the crowd shout and heckle. "Kill the (expletive)," one person shouts twice as people — who appear to be from the stands — jump onto the field. Other footage appears to show flares being let off in a car park beside the field as people continue to clash.

Rockdale Ilinden is Macedonian backed and Sydney United 58 were formerly Sydney Croatia. Fights between fans and ground announcements in other than English were part of the reasons what was the FFA decided to ban ethnic club names. This ban has since been lifted and Rockdale changed back to Ilinden this season. Edited April 26, 2021 by Eednud
LongTimeLurker
Vardar Skopje colours and the name Suns wasn't exactly a heavy camouflaging of their Macedonian heritage so does it really make a difference if they are slightly more blatant about it now? Verdict: fight probably would have happened anyway.

Ira Gaines
Newcastle Jets never really looked in the game. Had chances but always looked second best. That OG would have been seen as a cracking wee finish if it was the right team that put the ball in the net.
Eednud
Lowest A-League crowd ever at last night’s Western Ushited v Newcastle Jets game, only 990 turned up. Of course in typical Australian style of denigrate football at every opportunity one headline runs “Football hits new low in horrible scenes” although headline changes on the actual article. WU should never have been accepted into the league in my opinion and same goes for Macarthur Bulls. https://www.news.com.au/sport/football/aleague-experiences-new-low-on-monday-night-when-just-990-people-turn-up-to-aami-park/news-story/912607d2cd27d028a93e70ed04e83463 Edited April 27, 2021 by Eednud

Ira Gaines
Melbourne Victory's "kick what moves" tactic helped keep the score down I guess. Even though they controlled big sections of the game, they never looked that threatening, and Sydney always looked the more likely.

Eednud
If it’s on where you are the WSW v Sydney FC derby is worth watching. Good noisy crowd, WSW 2 goals in front and could have been 3 or 4 but Sydney look as though they could easily score. Don’t be surprised if second half has 1 or 2 red cards. Meantime why did they schedule a five past 1 (WA time) kick-off in Perth. No goals last night in Adelaide, no goals today in Perth and Brisbane.
