Terry Antonis scoring Melbourne City’s 7th goal against West Sydney Wanderers tonight. Surely Rudan’s peg is very shoogly.

WSW are on a horrendous run, he must be very close to getting punted. Then he can go back to his tv gig rather than stoking class divides in Sydney and blaming all his woes on everyone else.

Straight over to celebrate in front of Rudan too with the "call me". Ha get it up him.

He was as useless on TV as he is a manager. Saw on Whirpool that there might have been handbags between Rudan and goalie Lawrence Thomas after the game.

Is that why the Assistant Manager did the post match interview?

Another chapter in the continued Peak A League saga - Global Advance have gone tits up, so the APL have had to sign a last minute deal with NEP to ensure the remaining fixtures for the season are able to be broadcast. Sakes.

Ouch.

Sydney derby on Saturday. I've not been to one yet and I'd like to go but I'm just concerned with the amount of shit (usually police or steward related) that goes on at these games.

Probably be alright if you avoid the Cove and the opposite end. Don’t take any flares or wear any. Normally wouldn’t say this but hope SFC thrash them, although 1-0 will do.

Didn't go in the end. Bit gutted as missed a bit of a classic. Would have been nice to have been there and laugh at Rudan.

Only saw the last 15 minutes and what a way to get it right up Rudan. Good that only the Mariners or Phoenix can finish premiers. Always good to see Victory lose and an almost last minute makes it better.

Great result for the Mariners in the AFC Inter-zone Playoff Final First Leg last night. They drew 1-1 away to Abdysh-Ata Kant in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic last night. Read somewhere it took them 24 hours to get there. Return leg is in Gosford on 24th. The winner meets the West Asian zone winner in the Final. Mariners had an A-League game in Melbourne against Western United last Saturday and are at home to Adelaide United on Sunday.

After defeating Abdish ATA-Kant 3-0 (4-1 agg) at home in the AFC Cup Inter-zonal Final (East) last Wednesday then the Jets 3-1 in Newcastle on Saturday the Mariners play their deferred and last regular A-League season game tonight at home to Adelaide United. The Mariners just need a draw to finish top and win the Premier’s Plate, lose and it goes to Wellington Phoenix. They will then head to Muscat in Oman to face Al-Ahed of Lebanon in the AFC Final on Sunday (early Monday morning here). Then it back for the A-League Semi Final, away on 11 May, home on 18 May. If they finish top of the table then SF opponent will be the lowest ranked Elimination Final winner otherwise it will be the highest ranked.

Randomly decided to watch the highlights of the Melbourne Victory vs. Melbourne City game, didn't realise until it hit extra time that it was a play-off game 😅 Very enjoyable watch, and that Victory keeper Paul Izzo, I think Scottish football might've learned to be way of Aussie keepers thanks to Mark Birighitti, but what a performance from him. Kept his 10-man side in the game the whole way, then saving 3 penalties and scoring his own in the shootout was just tremendous.

Just looked this up and saw CCM won the Asian Cup final versus Al-Ahed, with Alou Kuol, brother of ex-Hearts and CCM player Garang Kuol scoring the winner. A shame for Lee Erwin though... yeah, Lee Erwin, former Ross County and St Mirren man, playing up front as top striker for the best team in Lebanon. Fair play, that's up there with Marcus Haber dominating Cambodian football in terms of just pure weird.

Semi Finals are over 2 legs, Fri 10 May Sydney v CCM, Sat 18 May CCM v Sydney; Sun 12 May Victory v Wellington Phoenix, Sat 18 May Wellington Phoenix v Victory. The Victory game is on Sunday because the Melbourne Storm are at home in NRL on Saturday. The Mariners playing on Friday then the following Saturday is supposedly to give the team finishing top an extra day’s break. Seems nobody at the APL thought they would make it to the AFC Cup Final let alone win it. Hoping for a Mariners v Phoenix Final but Victory have been shite this season but mainly shit lucky. Only good thing about their win last night is that MelC lost.

Jason Cummings might be kicking himself for heading off to India instead of staying in Gosford.

Meh. The downside to being successful. Waratahs are using Allianz on Saturday and the Roosters on Sunday so Friday is the only day available. The pitch will be in a helluva state come Monday as we've had a lot of rain here for the last few days with more forecast this week.
