If people could stop saying Postecoglu took Australia to World Cups like it is some sort of incredible footballing achievement, that would be great. My gran could manage them to victories over shite like Bangladesh, Tajikistan or Jordan.

I am genuinely intrigued & given I still bear the scars caused by Nakamura, I suspect that Angie might well know a couple of technically proficient players that will run amok over here & use it as a pathway to the Barclays.

The J League can be summed up by the fact Shunsuke Nakamura is still playing there.

He turns 43 later this month.

The fact you hated Lawwell has got to be a plus, plus they're fans on here that don't rate Broony Shirley that's another plus?
We must be in a better position now in your mind?
Plus the Celtic fans on here that wanted Lennon out?

Fair point, even last seasons Killie team would have a 50/50 chance of beating Katie Price.

I think so, fresh ideas & the removal of an egotistical idiot who wants to be a Poundland Roy Keane to the detriment of actually winning games is a major bonus. Celtic will be a different animal this season, I am going to be watching their recruitment with interest & I don't think Sevco will have such an easy time of it in the league this time round.

Absolutely, have you ever watched it? It's a fucking stinking level.

Yeah he led his team to the world cup twice - where they were humiliated. Twice. Congrats, Ange.

Your point was solely that he hasn’t managed at a higher level than the Scottish Championship which is wrong.

The World Cup by default is a higher level irrespective of their results bearing in mind we as a country haven’t graced its presence in over 20 years.

As for being humiliated they lost every game in a group where even Spain failed to qualify with Chile and Holland. The gave Holland a better game than Spain did 😂 Their results were exactly what they should have been

After being perfect for 4 years domestically I agree it was time to leave.

Monkey magic,it did smell a bit fishy Sandy.

Not at all, if he gets it right I think Celtic will surprise a lot of people next season. The new Manager comes across as someone who knows what he wants & couldn't give a shit who he upsets to achieve it which I believe is exactly what you need right now.

I'm probably in the minority in thinking that celtic maybe don't have that much work to do to be able to seriously challenge rangers next season.

Fact is, though, that they could have had a coach in months ago - that delay could be crucial.

Doesn't sound like you have much of a clue about how AFC qualifying works then. Japan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and South Korea are the real challenges. They have two group phases as opposed to UEFA's one. The teams you mention were well beaten in the first group stage.
Just the geography of AFC qualifying is ridiculous, not the mention the playoff against Honduras in 2017 under Ange's watch which involved about 60 hours of flights all told, not just a wee jaunt over to the continent...  My observation has been then European teams doing UEFA qualifying have a much more pampered experience. No massive issues with sabotage and unplayable pitches. like in Bishkek and Dushanbe which make your average SJFA pitch look like Hampden.
The team Ange assembled lost 2-1 to France and drew 1-1 with Denmark. If your Gran has had better results, then getting her UEFA licence should be no bother and coaching the old firm should be a breeze ;)

Yes, those footballing powerhouses of Saudi Arabia and Iran. And then you further prove my point by saying he managed them to a defeat and a draw in the tournament. What a fantastic achievement.

wow, just wow.
Suffice to say you have no idea about football in Asia or Postecoglou's past efforts.
I'm glad you feel confident that your gran has a chance in World Cup Qualification and/or winning the highly prestigious SPL.
Australia did indeed lose to France by one goal (2-1) which was the same margin that France had over both Belgium and Argentina before they won the thing (i.e. nobody beat France in WC2018).
Australia drew with Denmark who lost out to runners up Croatia AET in the Round of 16.
I cuts me deep to say this, but I only wished Scotland had that level of success in recent times. Here's hoping we beat up the Czechs, Croats and smash the English at Wembley on our way to the future.

Why have you left out the other result from that World Cup?

As Scotland well know, playing against South American opposition is so unpredictable on their day.

 Unpredictable opposition, sabotaged pitches, long flights, ridiculous geography, pampered opposition. You should see if there's a vacancy for Ange's PR man.
