And at the risk of repeating conversations/arguments had elsewhere, how many times this season would you say the opposition have played better than us? I don't buy this "they just let us have the ball stuff" either. There have been bad decisions in games etc... but nobody IMO can claim we've played poorly over the course of the season. Certainly ion comparison to August to December last season where largely we were shite.Β That does make me worry about your latter point though, if we can't pick up points playing well, what'll happen of we play badly. Maybe the manager should ask Tommy Wright about that...Β Can see it from most posts but as a straw poll, are fans glass half-full or half-empty at the moment?Β At this point last season we had 20 points from 19 games despite playing terribly for most of the first half of last season. We were still near the bottom but going in the right direction given the results in December. This season we have 18Β points after 21 games despite, apparently,Β playing well. Most of the players available are the same - we probably have better personnel in defence now but better wingers then - so what's changed?Β The difference is the manager - one was pragmatic and able to pick up results despite everything being on fire, adjusted to his squad and surroundings and we picked up as a result. This year we have a philosophy manager who keeps making the same mistakes and who doesn't seem to be able to change things in game when his preferred formation and style doesn't work. As things stand I have zero faith in Davidson being able to turn results around with what he has and his signing success rate is below 20%. Not a great cocktail. The Real Saints
βYes, he has a future but where we are in the league makes it very hard to throw him in at the moment.β Absolute blethers.

I certainly won't overly judge him on his first window. But in terms of getting funds, are we left hoping that his quiet approach actually carries more favour with the chairman and KR than TW's tantrums? I suspect I'm grasping there...Β Playing to the gallery won't win us games. I think we'd probably see through it as fake if CD started to shout and get angry in interviews. There is no reason the players can't respect a quiet guy.Β .... Can see it from most posts but as a straw poll, are fans glass half-full or half-empty at the moment?Β I know what you mean, but on the other hand we're supposed to be one of the better run clubs with cash reserved for emergencies. We're in emergency territory, or at least very close. I think what's more likely to be of interest to Brown is signing a player and keeping him on a wage and not playing him. Whatever the story is with Melamed it doesn't seem to have been a great investment, which might not do him favours in terms of credibility when he's rattling the bucket for new players.Β I agree that we don't want someoneΒ to act out of character - that's my point. If his natural state is calm, contained etc that's fine but it makes you wonder if he can inspire a dressing room under siege. He certainly seems more feisty on the touchline than when he arrived, so maybe it'sΒ different behind the scenes.Β Glass is neither full nor empty and I'd like to think we'll be able to pull out of this tailspin but it's been a long season so far and home draw to a team missing (I think) 8 first team players is not a good look, and there's been a lot ofΒ alarms going off in the last few weeks. We've made this County game far more important than it should have been.

RandomGuy.
About 30 mins in and our attacking play has been abysmal, Stevie May follows me on Twitter, but I'm not sure he will after tonight f**k knows what he's thinking dropping so deep so often for.

RandomGuy.
Just now, Mr Positive, sometimes. said: Instructed to do so.Β Not all the time. Theres an instance of us attacking up the wing, one wing back crossing, it being worked out to the other wing back in a crossing position, and he's not in the box at all during the entire move, leaving Kane to challenge 3 CBs for it. Seems obsessed with trying to shoot from outside the area.

Madness.Β Two things I noticed watching live. One was when May came off he seemed to be looking at the bench and shaking his head a lot, in a really quite pissed off way. At the time it looked to me that he was really unhappy about something.Β Also, McCann looked to me to be very, very far forward and our most advanced player on quite a few occasions.Β Caveat - I wasn't giving my full attention and was having a beer or two, but these seemed odd to me.Β
