resk
It's 4th v 6th in the Granite City as the Toonsers take on the Blue Toon. The visitors go into the game with better form - seven points from the last five league games compared to Cove's four - so it's probably a tough one to call. I don't think it's cold enough up here to prompt a Livvy-esque "frozen artificial pitch" situation so this one should be on.

peternapper
Seems we could be missing some important players again, problem that seems never-ending this season.. Would take a boring 0-0
CoveRangers1922
Cove returned to winning ways last week with a slender 1-0 victory over Forfar. We need another win to instill confidence after an unconvincing run of results. Blue toon have proved many wrong so far this season and are a strong side capable of beating anyone in the league. Very interested to see if Jordan Brown will feature today. Cove need more from their midfield; especially wingers McIntosh and Masson who have created very little and scored less.

CoveRangers1922
Horrendous challenge from Si Ferry who made no attempt to play the ball BUT Peterhead can feel ever so slightly unlucky to be down to 10 men. Seen them given as yellows. Tall order to get anything out of the game now for the Blue Toon. Cove need to keep up the hard work, creativity and try to fill their boots
CoveRangers1922
McIntosh has some pace but can't cross or score to save his life. We must be able to recruit a better option than him Edited January 2, 2021 by CoveRangers1922
CoveRangers1922
1-0 at half time and Cove have had control of the game from the onset of the early goal. So far we've looked ok up to the edge of the Peterhead box but missing that player who can make killer passes. Disappointing to be only the one goal up at the break. Fancy Mitch to score 2nd half.
CoveRangers1922
Need wingers who can do there job. McIntosh and Masson are giving little to no supply to Mitch and Rory
CoveRangers1922
Disappointing 1-0 win. We looked better when it was 11 vs 11. Lacking some ruthlessness, should have pressed on and scored many more against 9 men. Same story as last week; need to do better. It's clear we need some midfielders brought in in January and another striker Edited January 2, 2021 by CoveRangers1922
Guest SJP79
Did well considering were down to 9 men, could have been a lot worse.

The game had all of the hallmarks of the last month or so though were we looked incapable of scoring when on top and then getting sucker punch. Happened badly against Clyde and Montrose to name but twice. Some of our team aren't up to standard / doing enough. Impressed with Scott Brown and Lyall Cameron for Peterhead.

Aye you did have a rough patch but two wins on the bounce will have restored a bit of confidence, and now Falkirk are having a bit of a form wobble so it'll be interesting to see how the league plays out. What were you hoping for at the start of the season ?

What were you hoping for at the start of the season ? Falkirk have gifted a lot of teams an opportunity to stay within touching distance with their last few results. I hoped for top 4 and quietly thought we could push Falkirk and Partick to the top spot. What is clear so far is we have a lack of strength in depth (poor signings in the last 12 months) and no attacking threat if you take our Mitch. There is no plan B. Our current squad will struggle to maintain 2nd spot unless we have vast improvement from our midfielders and/or have a productive window in regards to recruitment. Maybe Hartley will strength in the next couple of weeks with some signings , transfer window opens tonight i believe, Also be interesting to see if the other clubs do anything to strengthen thier promotion chance's.
